This has gone awefully quiet. I'm concerned. If we don't get this over the line we might as well fold the football club, Levy out and Frank can take his hat and leave as well. Lets play cricket with Vic as the pitcher or whatever it is called instead.

Assuming we are in for him this deal is a bit different. But putting stock into specific bids and numbers seems strange to me.

If we're in for him it's mostly probably a negotiation anyway and any official bid will be part of that negotiation.

Presumably MNC are trying to get a good price for Rodrygo, so whatever we bid now, they are still haggling at the other end e.g. they want another 10m from us and Real Madrid want another 10m from MNC and Madrid are probably haggling at some other club too, so it is very hard to know precisely what money is needed. If Madrid drop their price by 6 then maybe MNC will feel they can drop their price by 6 too etc. so the deal ends up 'net the same' for MNC
 
Out of curiosity, is he any good? Can't ever recall seeing him play? Like, obviously he has to have talent to have made it at City but would he likely improve us?

Yes very good. He's got a fairly similar style to Mahrez who he replaced at City. Although maybe with one of two more tricks

He would improve us because tel and Odobert aren’t as good as him yet
For the fee he will have to improve a lot, which is possible
Left foot is great for crossing
Needs to find more goals like he did more of in Spain
I wanted him when at Girona
I wouldn’t be paying £66m for him myself but then it ain’t my money
 
Don't think it will happen anyway now, Pep seems to want to keep him and any fee we reportedly offer is deemed not enough.
