Richarlison

Because Solomon is a new signing that would have a chance by Son moving to the centre in the case of Richy being injured. Does he fit in to your Ange 4-3-3 without that happening? A genuine question, not meaning to sound argumentative, I might be being shortsighted but it doesn't add up with more incomings and Gill to return etc.

Players transition easier than the average poster would believe and Bale whilst a cherry picked example is a solid example of that.

Obviously no club signs a player with the intention of them becoming supposed deadwood but given our situation of lack of sales it does seem odd to be signing back up players like Solomon, which would add to the case that we won't be signing another forward.

That's part of why I'm banging the Richy drum. Maybe it's delusion, I've been snippy with other posters for doing a similar thing in terms of positivity in the face of reality but this guy has all the tools. If posters like @Gilzeantoscore choose to call him a weakling that's fine, the management needs to show him the faith and in turn the player needs to repay that faith, it'd be silly for me to be arguing against people seeing a lack of end product because it's there to see for everyone at the minute but it can change and as Tommy says he just needs a moment.

I get what you are saying mate and it's commendable, but having watched him for a long time, (not just the three games this season) I have come to the conclusion that he is petulant and a head dropper. I will be amazed if he comes good. Albeit, I pray to be proven wrong.

The likelihood though is that there will be some games and moments where the midfielders and defenders don't finish the chances they get. At that point you want your front 3 who on paper are more capable of scoring to be doing so. It's great to be getting goals from everywhere and that is ultimately the dream, but it's actually that, getting goals from everywhere including the frontline whose job it is primarily to score.

It’s worked for Emirates Marketing Project for some time
Spread the goals around mitigates for player drop offs
But… you still need everyone to do their job

When he dropped his head, tripped over the ball on the break and kicked out, it affected our morale and we briefly lost control. Until Ange saw and dragged him.

City did manage it but they were also getting 13+ goals from Sterling 11+ from Mahrez and 15+ from De Bruyne along with around 10 from Foden. So their front 3 were still contributing goals even if not quite the 30 we got solely from Kane.

10 each from our front three plus continuing to get goals at a similar rate from around the team would be fine imo.

Which I think is achievable

Without even looking at the full conversations (38 notifications upon my return ) I'm pretty certain I got a bit carried away in discussions with @Bedfordspurs and @Gilzeantoscore and wasn't super respectful of opposing views / posting styles so I am sheepishly returning to the crime after a few days offline to apologize for being somewhat over the top in my defense of Richy, my bad gents.

No excuse but obviously got carried away after an early start on the drinking side of things to an extremely stupid level, and this was after a 2 - 0 away win, imagine if we'd have lost... I've had a good solid spell off the booze and appear to be slipping back to old habits so gotta stomp that out as whiskey especially just seems to be bottled up argument fuel.

Back to Richarlison, like everyone I hope he can grab a couple tonight as getting up and running would be super helpful for confidence etc

Yeah back on for now, if I can figure out a way to drink without doing a whole bottle of jack and 10 beers it'd be nice as I don't want to be tee total.

Interestingly all the outbound messages / chats I sent to personal acquaintances were pretty jovial and good vibes apart from one rant to my uncle who deserves the flak for being a Chelsea fan, however I haven't trawled through whatever rampage I seem to have went on here just yet!

Ange will get him to come good
It may be okaying wide left
It may be CF
But Ange doesn’t (imo) appear to be a a manger who gives up on players who he sees doing the hard work, and crucially having the basic skills he wants
Ange is Richarlsons 4th spurs manager… 4th in a year and a bit
I don't think Richy works harder than Son in the cf role. Even without the ball, Son starts from deeper, sprints more and recovers faster too - I can't remember son getting caught for offside for not retreating fast enough.

I agree, but that wasn't the point being made. Thing is, we don't have luxury of time, chances come fast and disappear sometimes faster, and Richie knows that, hence his frustration. But he'll stick in there, let's hope he comes good soon.

Sons offsides are rare and marginal
Richys are frequent
But son is faster and can trust his pace

I think he's going to struggle to get a start, next game Solomon with Son in the middle has to start. He has to take his sub opportunities.
If Richie is benched...it might benefit him coming on at the same time (or roughly) as Perisic. There's more chance of Perisic (and Johnson) providing Richie than when Son is in the left.

And Deki hasn't delivered many of those delicious inswinging crosses this season so far.
