OMT Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea, WHL, Sat 28 Sept

How about it you remove Townsend's shots?

22 shots according to whoscored. 74 - 22 = 52. 5 out of 52 is 9,6%, would take us up to 15th on that stat... ;)

Just in case someone were wondering.

Quite impressive to be second, on the same points a the leaders with a conversion rate like that. I can't wait for regression to the mean to set in ;)

Well....I'm very impressed by AVB.

He does have his feet well on the ground. Logical..and I'm very Impressed!

Come on you Spurs.......................................................................................................................................................

i'd think townsend should try to jinking a ball across the the box at the end of his runs - behind soldado as a decoy for the ever ready paulinho to bring it home

We all have the same questions..

Townsend or lamela
Eriksen or Holtby
Chadli or siggy

Those are the only questions cos the rest of the team picks itself. I can't see siggy getting dropped after 2 goals against Norwich. Whoever plays against Ashley Cole is in for a tough game so I would play lamela who is more likely to come inside onto his left foot and chelsea are weakest through the middle.

And Sandro or Dembele

Both Holtby and Defoe are nearing a place in the starting eleven, but i think AVB will still go with Eriksen and Soldado, which is fine by me. So excited about tomorrows game. COYS!

I would prefer Soldado purely because Defoe has always disappeared in big games for us when starting.

I think it's simpler logic

- Yes JD and Holtby are in good form
- the but is, they played Tuesday and haven't proven themselves as starters in big PL games this season.
- I think we will stick with the established order and see JD/Holtby as a huge bonus to have on the bench to use as needed.

I suspect we will see Sandro included as a few mentioned, wouldn't mind seeing Sandro/Dembele/Paulinho in the middle.

Given this a lot of thought and decided on the following prediction...

Tottenham 0
Chelsea 2

0-1: Eto'o 37
0-2: Lampard 81

Jose hinting that Mata will be involved tomorrow in his press conference:

"I liked the way Juan Mata played against Swindon. His attitude is very good and his effort was good.

"When in a player makes an effort to come in my direction then I go to him as well. I can imagine from now him working into my way of thinking and I think the natural tendency will for him to be in the team."

I've thought about that, but with all three of those guys in that middle row of a 4-3-3 it becomes exceptionally tricky to fill the 2 spots either side of Soldado/Defoe without either playing people out of position or dropping in-form players.

I think it has to be a 4-2-3-1 with a No. 10 to best leverage our in-form players in their best positions.

I don't think we should start starting Defoe in the PL despite his fine form. Its harsh on Defoe, but we've spent £26m on Soldado and the more games he gets the more he will find his feet. Dropping him now will potentially be damaging to this development and understanding of the team and to his confidence. His performance against Cardiff was up a notch on previous performenaces, he was more involved and seemed to be more in tune with the movement around him and also where his team mates would run to and how passes would be played.

We need to keep playing him to get the most out of him. Defoe will get enough games to keep him happy i'm sure as we are in 3 cup competitions and I'm sure Soldado will need a rest at some point in the league too!

****. Don't want to see Mata on the pitch.
