OMT *** TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR V IPSWICH TOWN *** Sun 10th Nov, 14:00 BST, The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

What we need is a left back who can play LCB when needed
Udogie is playing way too many games currently and will break
We also need Ange to actually play Spence to even gray every now and then to give Porro the rest he needs
Isn't spence injured? But once he is back, he absolutely should come on as sub imho, can only see him starting with injuries and suspensions

Some crappy uefa rule kept from spence being available in the euro cup apparently

Serious question… how did the system let him down today?
For the first goal we had 2 players for every one of theirs and it started to go wrong with a weird/weak header from him and then the other two not actually doing anything
Did you see around the 75 minute mark when they hit a ling ball and him and poor again decided neither would go for it meaning delap took it and win a free kick if iirc
It’s all about decision making and he is poor at it
I think the defenders in this system are placed under considerable pressure game after game. It’s no surprise to me that elements of their games are breaking down pretty consistently.

I didn’t see that today or last week vs villa
I did at palace. We were toss and I think Ange got the set up wrong
8 men in the box and they win it.,. That’s not pressure, that’s desire

It's not Dr Tottenham though... Didn;t see it once under Poch. Becaue we was trained properly, had a plan on the pitch, attacked, defended, and pressed really hard as team.

We kept the ball well, we was rarely sloppy, when we lost, we played well and faught to the end.

It's been poor management of the club for the decades, getting players like Werner, Sissoko, Solomon.... Too many cheap options and gambles... Trying to win things on the cheap.

Swapping philosphy as quickly as managers, becaues we never back them, never invest wisely...

For the first time in a long long time we have an exciting bunch of kids, but the first team... Jut a bunch of weak willed wonnabe's.
We are still buying the wrong players, only now we are spending 50 to 60 mill each on players who look no better than championship standard. Yes i do mean Johnson, Solanke . They wont take us to the next level. .

So many issues. Son is a terrible captain and is now a 1 good game in 4 player.
Romero is a poor defender and slows our play down. Drago is not a lcb.
Udogie and Porro arent good defenders either. Put that together and we will concede soft goals for fun.
Zero creativity from midfield if Kulu gas an off day like v Ipswich. Plus no one gets in good positions in the box, or we are pish at picking them out.
Johnson and Werner.. no thanks, just not good enough.
Injuries again killing us. Oderbert seems to be this years Solomon.
The biggest problem though is we are so tinkle weak mentally and timid on the field.
Every Ipswich player worked their socks off and won most 50 50 balls.
Ange doesnt do anything to gee up the players during the game.
A cup win would be great but we ve got no chance i fear.

It’s boring to lose to teams like Palace and Ipswich in the way that we have. And he doesn’t do himself any favours by standing there like a statue, stubbornly refusing to change the players on the pitch to try and win a game. Vibes FC is a thing of the past.
Agree with that in many ways. However, what calibre of player does he have to bring on with things are going wrong? It's slim pickings thanks largely to the club's owners.

We do have many injuries and today, super late into the game, he brought on Maddison and Biss. Too late for them to have any impact as neither are 'the impact sub type (see Jhon Duran). Both those players play differently to what we had out today, and many would wager that Maddison is better suited to picking a pass against a low block than Sarr.

The build up to their first goal was embarrassing and pathetic, not once but twice they had a player run through the middle of 2 of ours without a challenge. Non of these players are good enough for where we want to be.

Something Ange did well a couple of times at the end of last season was take off the 8 or 6 at half time and put Deki into the middle with Madders and just have one CDM. We spun a few games round doing that.

He’s gone the other way since the Brighton game and relied on Sarr more to play with Bentancur or Bissouma.

Today it just seemed he wanted to reward Sarr with another start after his decent game vs Villa when in fact we needed a bit more creativity. That’s a tactical mis step.

Then not adding Madders until the 82nd minute when you’re losing at home to Ipswich is quite worrying stuff. Not least for the player himself. Very odd.

Not that it matters but I've forgotten what we got when their player stuck a hand out and I thought it was in the box. Did we get free kick? And how we didn't get a pen when Drags was being mugged on their goal line when solanke scored. Is the rule they ignore other infringements when checking one thing?

the goals we concede are nothing special and we never learn

We made changes and still look tired. We have only played 11 games. And gone a little further in 1 cup and 4 games in europe.......if that's it (which I don't think it is) and I don't think he has lost the dressing room.....but something is wrong.

And our transfers also have to include players who are ready now

Written about this before, but another one where our mentality let us down imo. Thought the lads on the pod spoke well about it too.

We seemed to respond after the first goal, didn't do enough, but we tried to up our purpose and tempo. Responding is in isolation good, but we need to have that from the start. Even if a bit tired, even if up against a weaker side.

Then some way in the second half we got frustrated and flustered. Poor decisions and poor quality way too often.

These imo are issues Ange has rightly brought up before. But these aren't issues that are solved quickly. It's only normal that they repeat themselves. As Ange has also spoken about in the past.

I think this is mostly Maddison either being off form or struggling with some kind of fitness issue.

Earlier in the season Ange started Maddison and Kulusevski quite a bit. It is really attacking, but probably the best solution some of the time. But only if those players are on form.

Was spoken well about on the pod I thought.

It's a learn curve from the players. It's not just the games and minutes, it's the travelling, less time to prepare etc. Getting used to that and still being sufficiently sharp for every game takes time.

The "first season in Europe effect" is quite common. We've rotated well for Europe imo, but it still takes a toll. Physically and mentally. The players have to learn to deal with it better.

Well when we do. We will probably sack the manger and go on that roundabout all over again

Ange kept him out of the Europa League squad, not UEFA.
