OMT *** TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR V IPSWICH TOWN *** Sun 10th Nov, 14:00 BST, The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Fify. We really only have one good CB, and he's injured. Romero is completly switched off 50% of the time.
I did NOT say Dragusin is not a very good CB bTW...

THIS is what I actually said

"I agree re: personnel. I'd add at left wing and left CB backup. Dragusin is not a left-sided CB!"

I actually think he is a perfectly decent back-up to Romero. Not sure WHO changed my initial quote to which you replied...

He's a borderline decent back up for a CB that's only good 50% of the time. That's not good enough. Dragu has crumbled under pressure in pretty much every game he's played. He's fine sitting on the bench, but back ups should be fairly reliable when called for. He hasn't been.

Just got home… another sickening performance served up by this lot. Ange’s team keeps finding ways to plumb new lows. Today looked like yet another game where the players thought that simply turning up would deliver three points. That mentality has got to be a shared responsibility of manager AND players. However, when it keeps happening I think it’s up to the manager to change the attitude (or the personnel) to stop it repeating. He doesn’t seem able to do that. I’m desperately hoping that he is NOT out of his depth but for every United away there’s a Palace; for every Villa there’s an Ipswich.

However, on this particular weekend I shall do my best to keep reminding myself that football is unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Lest we forget….

I watched today with Ipswich supporting brother. He was fully expecting them to be beaten comfortably today but I assured him if any team would give them their first win it would be us. They are a decent footballing side but one we should beat if we are going to do anything.

What shocked us both was there were no changes at half time and then the first change was Werner with Maddison and Bissouma not being introduced till it was to late in the day for them to do anything. Ange seems to have these games where he doesn't react or chooses not to make changes when it's clear things aren't working. I don't know if he's trying to prove a point but if so I can't work out what it is. I thought in the last 5 I saw Lankshear stripped ready to be introduced as a last roll of the dice but then nothing happened and we just saw the game out. A disappointing performance and I think if the inconsistency continues questions are going to start to be asked.

Sometimes, you start to believe that “Doctor Tottenham” is just a cliched joke and then the last 3 weeks happen and you realise…it’s who we are mate.
It's not Dr Tottenham though... Didn;t see it once under Poch. Becaue we was trained properly, had a plan on the pitch, attacked, defended, and pressed really hard as team.

We kept the ball well, we was rarely sloppy, when we lost, we played well and faught to the end.

It's been poor management of the club for the decades, getting players like Werner, Sissoko, Solomon.... Too many cheap options and gambles... Trying to win things on the cheap.

Swapping philosphy as quickly as managers, becaues we never back them, never invest wisely...

For the first time in a long long time we have an exciting bunch of kids, but the first team... Jut a bunch of weak willed wonnabe's.

Posted similar earlier in the thread. I have no idea what was going through his head after watching the 1st half, thinking, nah mate, I will just send out the same side

Thinking about which part of Madrid he wants to live in.
He’s just not as good as he’s cracked up to be. “Defender of the year” in Italy. Ok who else won that accolade since he left? I don’t hear much being said about it. World Cup winning defender? Fair enough, so was Nicolas Otamendi. Let’s buy him.

I think he’s been fine at RCB but looks all wrong at LCB. He can’t stride out with the ball at LCB and hence everything goes blunt and slow.

I’d say Davies should be the back up at LCB and Dragu for RCB. With a view to signing a superior back up LCB.

I posted the same in this thread at the time.
If my players walked around as slow as ours did in the first half, I’d want as many of them off as possible at HT.

We just signed Odobert and we also have Werner and Moore. (All who can cover for Son). I’d be amazed if we signed another Left winger.

I think we need an Olise type on the right. I think Odobert plays both sides but we need someone prem ready.

Few thoughts from today having attended the match.

Slowness of build up - Our passing side to side is so slow. Not just between each pass but the actual speed of the pass itself. How hard is this to change?

Plan - our plan seems to be to work it wide and then cross. Yet we have to be the worst crossers in the league. Some efforts there that you wouldn’t see in under 11s.

Subs - Only Ange knows what’s going on there. Became pretty clear that our midfield didn’t want to take the ball from the defence (no movement) and you’ve got 2 great receivers in Bissouma and Maddison on the bench that don’t come on until 82nd minute. If Madders can’t get on the pitch until then with us performing how we did then there must be issues.

Leaders - We are kidding ourselves if we think we have the right leadership group.

Solanke - I’m just not seeing it. Ball doesn’t stick with him, he doesn’t link up, no headers won. Seems I’m on my own here but not sure what his game is. Like a poor version of Kane in every attribute.

That's now just 56 points from last 39 games..... Mid table and nothing more. I'm fed up of being fed up....

I like Ange but he must take some blame as today happens far too often ...

As for Son being captain, my wonderfully joyous 2 year old granddaughter displays more aggression.... He is just too nice to do the job and sums up the club's attitude.

He is awful as captain
Captains shouldn’t be chosen because they lead by example
They should be chosen because they install a level of expectation and … will deal with the referee and opposition in a way that benefits the team

What we need is a left back who can play LCB when needed
Udogie is playing way too many games currently and will break
We also need Ange to actually play Spence to even gray every now and then to give Porro the rest he needs

He’d probably fare better in a system which isn’t so prone to hanging defenders out to dry - as is the case when he plays for Argentina.

Steff, my old friend. As a defender Dragusin MIGHT stack up as a Romero replacement, but as a passer he is MILES off. And that's a problem I Ange's system.

Serious question… how did the system let him down today?
For the first goal we had 2 players for every one of theirs and it started to go wrong with a weird/weak header from him and then the other two not actually doing anything
Did you see around the 75 minute mark when they hit a ling ball and him and poor again decided neither would go for it meaning delap took it and win a free kick if iirc
It’s all about decision making and he is poor at it
