*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Emirates Marketing Project ***

What does Tel actually do? I know he is young and its only a few games but he walks around like he is the best player on the pitch, almost as if he is doing us a favour. He doesn’t press properly, isn’t the best at holding onto the ball, seems to lose it when he dribbles. I hope he proves me wrong but he is not looking like a £60m player.
Judging a player from overseas so early on is foolish.

First half, an unmitigated pile of festering rat droppings. Second half, somewhat better. We had a couple of 10-or-so minute spells when we weren't completely ѕhitе. If this guy is still in charge next season, I don't see myself bothering to go.

It’s very hard to get motivated for games under this manager.

His combination of misplaced arrogance, ineptitude and general cluelessness is galling.

However I think he will be our manager come what may the start of next season, how long he lasts is another question

He is a huge gamble for that fee
And one I wouldn’t make myself
Said it before but Delap is the guy and 2/3 the price.
Tel may well develop. He has similar style to Henry when he was at Juve IMO and e know what happened there. But Henry had that pace to burn
Henry demonstrated significantly better technique at Monaco and then Juve. Hell he scored 2 typical Henry goals at the 98 world cup at 18 years old.

Tel doesn't seem to have any outstanding attributes as yet. He may grow into having them but he looks like a player that doesn't quite know what he is so far.

Not meaning this as an excuse, still think the first half performance was not good enough. More as a positive view for the future...

Agsin starting with 3 teenagers, up against a somewhat struggling, but still really good side. + 20 year old Odobert. Udogie 22, Johnson 23.

Several players just back from significant injury lay offs. Tel and Danso recently arrived.

With or without Ange this squad has bags of potential.

Second half we saw some of what Ange can do with these players. Personally I want to see what Ange can do with these players going forward, but regardless of who's in charge this a special crop of players.

First 20min I really didn't. I've explained myself in depth what I generally don't enjoy about our tactics on the whole. So when we win some great.
We may have won 4-1 but we were pretty poor for large periods against relegation fodder. I would not bother explaining yourself there.

We are bang average under this manager.
We need a change in the summer.

I thought we done ok second half last night. City could and should have been out of sight.
We have seen spells where we look good but it’s fleeting.

Not fussed about the rotation, we've got a strong squad and when available it should be utilised more. AZ games are the priority and hopefully that was the thinking with some of it.

More concerned about repeat issues with our tactical setup being highlighted, though we didn’t learn anything we didn't already know in that regard.

What were the issues tactically you saw?
For me the issues were players not getting the basics right first half and doing it better second half.

After we were already losing. There's a pattern under Ange of a gallant effort once we've already fudged it. Fight is great to have but it's not so impressive when we are are having to fight every game because a lack of decent preparation. We seem to do nothing to mitigate the opposition, we just go out and get bent over and then react. It's usually too late by then. City were never really in any trouble yesterday.

Just a continuation of the poor defensive structure that has been common throughout the past two seasons, how regularly we get caught high up the pitch with space in behind the full backs leaving us all at sea when running back towards goal.

If a byproduct of us attacking the way we do is that it leaves us exposed to the same sort of counters from opponents then we should look better prepared to deal with those situations than we do.

Maddison is always coming deep to collect the ball to pass it to where he should be
So frustrating
Form of hiding in my book. He's coming deep and playing safe passes, often horizontal. When you add in that are Cb's seemed to be tasked with being playmakers you then have another player in the mix not progressing the ball forward. His other version is to stand behind the defender too high. He hardly ever receives the ball in the pocket, but when he does he's good from that position.

When we attempt to build up from the back the Cb's start with the ball, the Fb's push up and narrow which means there is no easy pass out wide. So the Cb's hold onto it. Eventually there is some rotation with a midfielder dropping into the Fb position that the Fb have vacated. So we've swapped the position of 4 players for no gain at all. The Fb's are now in a #10ish position but contributing nothing to the build up cause we can't get the ball to them.

The wingers stay wide, but we don't play them in over the top/down the line early. We don't do anything early, players continually cut back in, then go backwards again to the Cb's.

Are my issues with the first phase of our build up play
