*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Emirates Marketing Project ***

He wants to play as a CF. But he's clearly physically overmatched in the Premier League, and a little too easy to bully to be a lone CF.

Suspect he'd look really good in a two up front with someone more physically robust like Solanke. His playstyle reminds me a little of a young Defoe, though JD had more pace about him than Tel does.

In the meantime, I'd guess his future is returning to that left-wing inside forward role for now, if he's up for it. It will be easier for him than labouring against PL giants as the centre-forward.
Nothing like Defoe
Defoe even as a kid could hit the ball

So can Tel mate. Don't assume this cameo of him in the PL is all he can do - I watched him before this at Bayern, and the kid has a fierce and pretty accurate shot on him, on both feet.

He just needs to bulk up a little - despite his size, JD had a low center of gravity and could brush people off and drive past them to shoot. Tel needs to do that too.

Yeah I’ve seen that
Bug be tickles the ball here because he has much less space
I wouldn’t take the gamble on him
For this half a season I’m fine with it
The upside may… may be huge at some point
But we can’t gamble on that for the fee

What does Tel actually do? I know he is young and its only a few games but he walks around like he is the best player on the pitch, almost as if he is doing us a favour. He doesn’t press properly, isn’t the best at holding onto the ball, seems to lose it when he dribbles. I hope he proves me wrong but he is not looking like a £60m player.
Levy will pay £70m for him

Im definitely leaning towards dont take the option and drop all our cash on Dibling and Delap instead.

Even at LWF, Odobert looks leagues ahead.

Nothing lost though, and still time to change everyone's mind.

I don't know what we have done to refs to have such bricky ones, week in and week out. At least Madders pipped up. Not that I did much, but he let it be known

We don't complain about them mate.

Simple as that. That's why we get stuffed.

I hated our passivity when Harry was angling for the England job in 2012, when Poch was the one doing it, and I hate it now when Postecoglou does it.

The only way - the *only* way - refs will ever be fair to you is if you make them afraid. Pressure them, make them hate giving a decision against you, and you will do okay with them. That's what Mourinho, Conte, Klopp, SAF, and others learned long ago.

Refs need to be kept in perpetual fear. The longer we don't learn that, the longer we go getting these arrogant pricks reffing us like we don't matter.

Thankfully we got him on loan without an obligation to buy.
Worryingly, Ange has said : we WILL be making his appointment permanent "
That's a reason to sack him, just for that alone but hopefully he isn't a man of his word.
Unless Tel improves we surely can't splash £40-50m in the hope he will develop and improve massively from what we are seeing.

Think it’s harsh to make any judgement on Tel. He hasn’t looked great but he’s a young kid in a foreign country in a team that’s struggling and unsettled.

Give him time.

Yep. Plus he had the bravery to come here when we were in a tough spot - there's nothing wrong with him mentally, he's just struggling physically atm.

Think it will help when Solanke is back and he's potentially tried out on the left. With someone else taking up the defenders' attentions, think he can do quite well.

Oh, for sure mate. Doubt he's worth the huge buyout fee at this point. But, if he toughens up, that could change.

And in case I wasn't clear before....I Don't LIKE IT.
Doku had all the time in the world and I don't like how Ange never seems to want to nullify any teams obvious play.

We are too slow. And when we do pick it up teams can't cope. We just do it like 5 times in a game. I'm just making up stats

I just find us an awful watch. We were okay for about 15 minutes of tonight’s game; aside from that, it still looked like football being made up on the hoof to me.

It’s the gamble
And it’s a lot of money for any club at that fee
£20m… yeah for sure
£40m… not sure
£60m … no chance

I agree , he needs to be played in his best position with the team functioning well but how's he going to get the chance to do that ? Ahead of Son who looks like he's hitting form , ahead of Odobert who we've already bought and invested in and who looks pretty good.
We surely can't gamble on him.
Maybe another loan for a further 6/12 months but I don't think we will get to see enough of him in his best position to make a solid judgement call.
He looks a bit lazy to me , I'm getting Ndombele vibes here.

Didn't enjoy the Ipswich game. I rarely get excited. I now just want us to win by any means. Don't even care how it looks like now. And would love for us not to hit 20 losses....but we are gonna or get super close to it. Anfield and Chelscum, wolves and spam away for starters.
