OMT ** Tottenham Hotspur v Emirates Marketing Project ** Saturday 23 November 2024

I thought we were excellent blocking crosses today. If we can somehow show the same willingness and determination to do that against Fulham, we'll be allright.
We can
But as I’ve said and get knocked down for
It is never gonna happen with defenders who don’t mark
I don’t think it’s a tactical thing leaving the man
So I can only assume it’s a player watching the ball
We have a few huge culprits who have mastered the art of not defending when we have crosses against us
But not today

I think we're two windows away from that total belief and matched ability across the full squad. While we're nowhere near as bad squad vs style wise as last year (Dier, Hojberg, etc) there's really only Solanke who has come in and joined the first team. We need upgrades to the back up players at 1, 3, 5,(LCH) 7, 9, and need those young players coming through at 2, 6, 8, and 11 to develop to their potential. Finally we need to have a plan for the end of Sonny, which I would say is 12-18 months away. When we have 22 outfield players who can interchange with no impact on the style, momentum and shape of the side, then you will see this style of football succeed most weeks.
Fully agree
It’s been said repeatedly by coaches but a painful rebuild is needed and we are in the process of doing it
We have to ship out the remaining players who can’t okay this football and also the ones who fitness here has been an issue
I do think the CHs on loan will have a big say in what we do in the windows
And Richy is one a big decision needs to be made on

I don't think you can read to much into it. Against City wile had less of the possession and had some spells where we were sat relatively deep and prepared for their attacks. Typically we are the ones on the attack and with our team positioned in the opposition half. Unless we are going to allow the opposition some of the ball we probably won't have many games where we can replicate this type of performance.

Quite happy I backed us to win before the game! I also backed us to lose to Ipswich, I know this team too well 😂

Kulu was a monster today! Honourable mentions also to Davies, Dragusin, Solanke and Maddison.

Hmm I know we won and we had some headers won but you're forgetting the ones we didn't win. City had chances today and if they had gone in all of the same complaints would be made. I think it's a mistake to look at the result and conclude that we didn't have some of the same flaws we always do because we did. It's just the game went in our favour instead.

It’s easy to let the other team have the ball.

In fact we seem to excel at it at times.

I haven’t seen the game yet
I’m only going off the stats and what people have said
I’ve for a fee negative mates who said for once the CBs did the basics that we haven’t done in other games
Nice to see Werner set up Johnson at the end too
Shows that pace and the low cross can be effective when executed well
Said it for a while about city they look like a team with no legs in it and a complete lack of physical proweess
They need to invest in a quite a few players and stop selling their top youth

The stats don't tell the story, a lot of their chances were poor and more in hope than expectation of scoring.

It isn't meaningless whatever the outcome of the next game. We beat city at their pad, somewhere they have not lost in 52 games. That's years of no defeats. If nothing else it signifies the fall of city's current generation, but more likely to me it signifies our players coming of age. There will be other drop offs in performance, but that should be enough to bounce the performance of everyone up a notch every week thanks to the belief it gives the team.
What is this?

Seriously?

Coming of age? If it was players coming of age, then we need to go out and win the next game and start being bloody consistent. Because until we do, that bolded bit is utter bollox. This is why it is important not blow it next game, as this result will be meaningless in teh grand shceme of things .

Like I said it is great win, and it is always lovely to stuff ManC... Enjoy the day and result.

I wonder if Kyle Walker will look back on his career and say "that was the moment".

Cos honestly, it was the moment - in his prime or even somewhere near it Walker would have matched Werner with the ball.
I don't think so. He is still astonishingly fast, even at his age.

Football is a game of over 90 minutes and usually in the best games control flows from one team to another, I find one sided games boring, I'd support another team if I just want to see that type of game I like the element of surprise in any game.
If it’s the element of surprise you like, you’ve chosen your club very, very well.
