OMT ** Tottenham Hotspur v AZ - Thursday 24 October at 8pm **

After seasons of watching 11 blokes thrown together struggling to look like a team and losing it made a nice change. As many have written there were positives to take from match, game time for youngsters and those who needed it, a clean sheet for Foster, goal for Richy, Mickey Moore showed his talent and character after early miss, gave a rest to regulars and most importantly a victory, that's all you have to do in a cup game. I didn't expect a dominant team display with so many changes but felt we did control well at times as well as looking to over play in defence. Well pleased with result.

Oh, do stop. That's far too sensible an assessment for this 'hot-take' generation. ;)

You make that sound like a bad thing.

Your mileage may vary but, I like the idea that we're growing our fan base.

It's a global game now, I've found the foreign fans I've met very well mannered and here to enjoy themselves, especially the Koreans. I'll admit I'm dissapointed when I see people wearing the usual Northern kits around the country as I'm a bit of a Royston Vasey type fan.

So, earlier, I mooted the notion that Mikey Moore might be in contention for a start against Crystal Palace.

If he's played wide left, CP's creaky RBs include Daniel Munoz (28, started last game), Joel Ward (34) and Nathaniel Clyne (33).

Moore should be able to run rings around this lot. Even if he doesn't score or set up a goal, just think about the possibilities that he just runs down CP's starting RB and gives Odobert - or Werner - a weakened defence to run at in the latter stages of the second half.

If CP have to sub out Munoz, they are doomed with what we can offer down the left.

And if you want to flip that scenario, start Odobert or Werner and bring on Moore to run at a reduced RB from 60 mins. on.

Either way, I like it a lot.

Not a convincing performance but a win nevertheless. Quite a few positives as well. We looked so much better when Werner went off and Mikey Moore switched to his best position. The trouble with making so many changes to the starting line up is there are too many players trying to make a name for themselves and I think it tends to make them a little greedy with the ball by trying to do too much on their own.
But we can`t complain 3 wins from 3 with our young and back up players. Also players not in their best position (Archie Gray?) A couple of players made mistakes which should have cost us but made up in other ways, I`m talking Dragusin and Bentancaur who buth made up for mistakes with a couple of excellent blocks.
Only real disappointment for me was Bergvall , he didn`t have a particularly bad game but nothing came off for him. Got some tough games coming up so we really need to rotate players in the Europa league. And as said by previous posters why is Spence not in the Europa league squad? I`d love to know what Anges reason is for that.
I thought he was pretty good for the most part and he did have a couple of big moments. He had a beautiful pass to Werner with the outside of his boot, which might have resulted in a goal. And he won the peno don't forget.

I will be making my pilgrimages to MegaLane™ in days to come and I hope my distinctly Canadian accent isn't cause for someone to hammer me as some Johnny Foreigner. I've been all about Spurs since sitting in my grandad's sitting room in Belfast learning all about Spurs as he regaled me with tales of Danny Blanchflower.

Point is, Spurs attract fan from many different cultures and for many different reasons. Mine was the love an Ulsterman had for one of Spurs greatest players. Nowadays, it's Koreans coming in to spread their appreciation for Son Heung-Min. But maybe soon it will be the Dutch adoring VdV or Swedes for Deki or Bergvall. Doesn't matter. Whoever is there to cheer for Spurs should be appreciated and welcomed.

Nah
But in the block I was in there was a load of loads who were Eastern European dotted around (they cheered big time for Dragusin)
But it’s more the mechanics of how they are buying the tickets that I don’t get

Canadian accent or a Graeme McDowell one? How long have you been away? Only kidding. Everyone is welcome at that the Lane, I’ve never ever had a problem.

Sorry if my post sounded like I’m anti foreign fans. It’s quite the opposite
I just wonder where they get the tickets from
There was groups of 3 or 4 booked in clusters who were all mates
Was odd and not what you get for a league game
You come over here and I’ll buy you a beer for sure

Local Spurs supporter group? Here in the Norwegian supporters club we have 100s of people that have season tickets, many of them have 2,3,4 together, that members can buy if owner doesn't go to a game.
