Moussa Sissoko

What's the latest in Saudi Sportswashing Machine about where he's heading?

Sissoko wants to go to Spurs.
Everton have had a bid accepted.
Spurs still interested.
Saudi Sportswashing Machine wont budge on £30m minimum but....
Bidding war happening now.

The reason why I want Sissoko is that our best performances last year came when we have Dier, Dembele and Alli bullying and overpowering teams in the centre. Given the increase in highest quality games which we have this year given the CL, I'd like to have Sissoko to give us extra depth of physical players in those areas

"Those areas" - really only the AM area if Sissoko (as a lot of us think) isn't a good option for those deeper midfield roles usually filled by Dier and Dembele. To replace Alli (for whatever reason) we have plenty of options already. I see no reason to think that Son, Janssen or Nkoudou couldn't come in and make us with a better impact than Sissoko if Alli is out or dropped.

How can there be a bidding war if Everton have had a bid accepted and Saudi Sportswashing Machine won't budge on a £30m minimum?

The only way Levy will bid £30 for him is to force Everton to up their bid.

As an aside this gimp loves arsenal and committed a despicable dive on the final day last season, ending our chances of ending above the bastards

Forgive and forget. We need more players who have pace and power in attacking areas. Price is £5m - £10m too much but I think we need that extra option. Last year when we didnt have Dembele or Alli would looked light-weight

You've used examples of Son( looks good but jury still out and injury question marks), Jansen who is primarily a striker and Nkoudou who nobody here has a clue how he's going to do. Meanwhile Sissoko has proven he is a threat and a powerhouse, and if Poch believes he can get the best out of him I'm all in....

Alli will likely to have to play in Dembele's role at times this year given we dont have cover for MD. Therefore Sissoko will be needed in Alli's role

We have son and Kane who can play there too and both are better than Sissoko

I like sissoko but not for a club record fee

The money their quoting feels like we're being anally raped

Son doesnt bring the same. Last year our best games when Dier, Dembele and Alli overpowered teams in the centre. Agree the price is toppy, but equally Leicester are paying £29m for Slimani, Burnley have signed somene underheard of midfielder for £14m and there's various other ridiculously over-priced deals. This is just another. The other three permanent signings we've got on the cheap so this just balances it out

I think we're right to place some real expectations with Son this season. A season settling in, good in periods, now the second season a very talented player should be able to push on. Janssen and Kane together. Jansen is primarily a striker, but Kane is a very capable #10 and two strikers is always an option now. Nkoudou... Sure. But we've signed him for a solid chunk of change, surely we're right to expect something?

If Poch believes... Sure. If Poch truly believed Sissoko was very important for us I think we would have moved earlier and been willing to spend the money to get him in.

If that's the plan I think we'd be able to find someone who could be Dembele's backup for a lot less than the £25-30m being mentioned for Sissoko...

Onomah is a great talent in my eyes. Blocking his way to the first team for a good, but not great 27 year old for big money isn't my cup of tea.
