Mousa Dembele

Anyone in the PL?
I don't know, but City might have. And Spain, Italy might have been a good fit too, not just PL. In any case, we'll not know until a move happens, which I hope it doesn't, but my point was you can't rule it out.

Come on Moussa. WE love you. You will be GREAT this season.
The gods atop Mount Kenya have decided this - and don't mess around with those guys.
COYS

If we buy Moussa Dembele from Fulham, will he be allowed his own thread or will the mods merge it with this one? Either option could be very entertaining.

Depends, if Dembele's form drops the thread and all reference to him will probably turn into "Jenas" anyway! Happy Christmas Mods and all.

It will also be interesting to see what name he gets to put on his shirt.
And how anyone, especially the Dembeles, will know who the fans are singing about.

At least we can sing the Wembley sing for them...

Dembele, Dembele, were the famous Tottenham Hotspur and weve got both dembeles

Hang on. 6 or 7 decent games this season invalidates about 60 crap ones before that? I don't get it. Let's wait until he plays consistently at a high level before singing the guys praises. Yes he has been good, but for about a quarter of a season. Every one wants to see him do well and he should with his sublime talents and physical presence.

60 crap ones, really? I think this comment harsh.

Fingers crossed the assessment today doesn't show up anything serious...

He passed a fitness test and started the match on Monday but was substituted after 44 minutes, hobbling off the field as he was replaced by Christian Eriksen.

And Pochettino said: "We don't know the extent. We need to analyse and assess him tomorrow.

"We hope that it is not a big issue - maybe one week or two weeks."

Likely out for a couple of games

- Do we slot in Mason or Bentaleb? (closer to a similar type if not style of player)
- Or do we put in Son and go more attacking?

Has Dembele been playing in the AM or CM position lately? (Haven't seen any games)

I reckon Mason in at CM and Alli in the ACM is possible - would like to see that with Lamela/Son in the WF positions

Thinking about the new Dembele. He's a much more aggressive player. He's doesn't play with the fear he always used to have.
I can't help wondering how much playing under AVB for a year and a half affected his game. "Keep it tight, don't lose the ball, dont try anything unless you're Gareth Bale." Remember that Paulinho game around Christmas a few years ago where he was suddenly Brazilian. He never tried any of those tricks again under AVB. Look at Oscar at Chelsea in his one game without a manager trying things because he knew he wouldnt get dropped afterwards.
We've seen Dembele and Lamela turn into direct aggressive players this season. I wonder could Chadli be the next one. If he used his physicality he could scare teams in the same way Arnautovic tore apart United on boxing day.

Interesting point, I actually like the fact that Alli still feels he has the freedom to try to nutmeg everyone in sight, and Lamela still will try to rabona a keeper when he could quite easily pass the ball into net.

good reflection on Poch

Couldn't agree more with what you have said. For me Dembele is a really important player for us and I am so glad that Poch has found an effective role for him!
