So you're saying it was going to get worse? He was absolutely looking to shift to 4-3-3 and NDombele/LoCelso were key parts of that plan.

Who wouldn't moan after all what he did, and got nothing back in terms of rebuilding the team. I'd be livid! He did a huge amount of good.
The football for the last year of his time here was largely dogbrick, though, and he was moaning to the press almost as much as Conte in the months leading up to his sacking (perhaps with more reason).
Let’s not re-write history.
That worked well did it not.
Pool had those friendlies and also trained in warm weather. We missed a trick there by some way
when Poch was sacked he had won 3 league games in 12
We were 14th, 11 points behind 4th place
NoSo are you saying you think was the right move to sack him?
And sorry, I think you're wrong, he was absolutely looking to play 4-3-3. Fitness of LoCelso and N'dombele forced him to persist with a 4-4-2 'diamond' type shape, but he was very curious about it.
No
I think he earned more time
But I really think the players we had would work in a 4-3-3
If that was his plan why did he never play it?
He was sacked.
You'll remember he said it would take Ndombele a full season to be 'ready'...
I also think they really saw Ndombelly as the CM that recycled the ball ala Dembele and Lo Celso as one for the three behign the striker. Issues there were Lo Celso rarely fit and Ndombele as we saw post Poch....no engine for the role
He must be checking his phone every two minutes tonight

I felt he eventually wanted a GLC/Skipp/Ndombele 3 in the middle...
Did he ever use Skipp? I felt he should have delved into the youth team when we didn't buy anyone, and brought through the likes of Skipp and Tanganga, like when he started at Spurs, but from memory he didn't?I felt he eventually wanted a GLC/Skipp/Ndombele 3 in the middle...

Where would dele have played? On the right?
I think we'd have seen Son Kane Dele, but with Dele drifting in more off the shoulder. That's just a guess obviously. Dynamically, if he had two FBs as strong as Walker and Rose had been (or even Trippier and Rose), I think that it could've worked...obviously this is fun pub talk ;-)
Walker had gone by then so would have to be trippier. Maybe it could have worked. We'll never know.
if he comes in, did what he did when he first came, we might have a chance. I look to Napoli and the scum as current models - we already have some very exciting talent, Udogie coming in next season, experienced players and we'll lose lenglet, n'dombele comes back (we need to sell or terminate his contract) but I think poch and paractici could work well, if the Italian decides to stick around
But for me, key is Central Defense. I like Dier, but we need someone much better
We have so many good pieces, we just need a little tweaking here and there.
Just thought I'd have a look back on this thread.Okay he has won a few games here and there. His English has improved a bit. He occasionally shows a bit of passion. So, why can't he grasp that footy is two halves? It ain't rocket science. Just start and finish strong, it ain't as exciting but it keeps people healthy.
