It could take 20 years to recover though. Most of us remember the Francis-Wenger sliding door moment. Hoddle in particular told Sugar to get Wenger.

Sure, but it won't. We have the stadium and all that, we're going to be very valuable for someone with cash, and cash is basically all that matters in the end, sadly.
 
So according to press reports/rumours poch was in the running for madrid in the summer and now Chelsea look likely to get him.
We were dead keen before conte, so what changed?
And if as is being suggested we haven't even spoken to him then I really have to wonder just exactly what is going on.
 
This has honestly turned into one of the worst seasons I can remember, just fudging miserable!
I had such high hopes for this season, everything looked in place to be a belter, elite manager with a good pre season, the 500 mil cash injection, some on paper very decent signings all looked set and it's just been brick performance after brick performance, the scum smashing it, injuries to half the team, Sonny's form dropping off a cliff and Levy seeming to have completely lost his mind and now Poch to Chelsea!!! Jesus wept this club?? What a brick show.

You're 100% right. But things shift quickly in football. You're never as far away as you think. Really hard to see that now when it really feels like we're falling apart and everything is going against us but it'll get better.

Agree but Levy is really worrying me. I've always been more or less onside with Levy, I haven't always agreed with his decisions but could see what he was trying to do and generally he's done well but the last 4 years it's just been one bad decision after another and us apparently not even considering Poch and him going to Chelsea feels like the final nail to me.
 
All I know is if Pochettino joins Chelsea as their manager, then he truly was just mouthing words during his time here.

I'm really excited by what he could do with the potential of that squad. He could turn it into a proper Ferguson at United golden two decades there.

Yeah, I fudging hate them. In many ways more than any other club. But it is a big job. Maybe Madrid comes up soon...what other big job is coming up? The guy can't sit at home and rot and become irrelevant. I hate it but I don't blame him. Not one jot.
