Kevin Danso

Will be interesting to see how quickly he's integrated/thrown in at the deep end.

Starting the Liverpool game seems like a big ask. But the options probably are Gray or two natural left sided centre backs. So risks no matter what.

he is a different profile from what we have and i expect him and vdv to make a great pairing. danso is more defensive than romero so it will mean less last ditch sprints for vdv.

a low risk acquisition and hopefully home grown

That part about the heart scan is interesting. I suppose Italy is more rigorous in view of relatively recent tragic incidents.

Not sure, bit of controversy there, apparently post the Roma "failure" he went and did extensive testing with external medical organization and none of their tests indicated any issue (not quite sure, but almost implied Roma was pulling a fast one)

That's correct, he posted the results on his SM....

Yeah, I listened to the whole interview and it is strange. But it seems that something was found, it's just that Roma gave it too much weight/credence

So without going through the whole thread, anyone on here seen much of him? Any good? I trawled a load of videos yesterday and he looked very hunched over, loved a run out of defence with the ball but also very much a last ditch tackle kinda guy

^^Danso looks excellent to me. First and foremost to succeed in the Prem you need to have the build and speed and power to fight for balls and not get overpowered like a smaller centre half or weaker players like Lenglet and Pau Torres.
Then, to succeed for a "top team" you need some skill and calm confidence to pass and play and not just shin it out of play, and clearly he has that.
He's played for Austria a lot, up against Mbappe and other top strikers, Lewandowski in Germany, right age, bounced back from the Southampton setback, played in England Germany France England Germany France so good experience, I rate him.

Are we human
Or are we dancer?
My sign is vital
My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees
Looking for the answer
Are we human

Giant human
Kevin Danso
His teeth are white and
His rings are gold
As he's got two knees
I assume he is the answer

Nope, the bit I'm wondering about is the longer pass. From the clips I saw, he has a bit of Toby about him with the longer ball.

Definitely a risk, but I imagine we'll see him -- Kinsky made his debut in the home leg just a couple of days after signing. Maybe with Davies to give Gray a rest, or potentially Archie in midfield.

I've got a feeling that either by design or Liverpool's insistence it might be a bit of a 'backs to the wall' effort.

Might simplify what Kevin is asked to do. And might even help VDV if it means less sprints.

Defensively, yes. On the ball it will be really important that we manage to keep and progress the ball at a decent level to pose a threat and avoid just getting pinned back for long periods.

But may still be the best option.

there is quite a bit of footage of him and he does win the ball. However everyone he tackles he knocks for six...
Anyway we'll have to see...

Btw, i know on very good authority that he WAS due to have a medical with Wolves and WE DID hijack that move at the last minute.

So all those thinking the media just made that up, it is NOT. We did hijack the move after some calls to key people (one of which i was out with yesterday).
