Kevin Danso

I had behind the goal seats at Utd game and Danso in person dwarves most of the other players by sheer accord of being a proper unit. He's very mobile for his size. I reckon if he gets a bit trimmer he would be even better but I worry it could take away from his physicality. Either way he's had a great stsrt with us

Good player, upgrade on Dragusin

Loves the fight, loves the physicality of defending and can carry the ball

Played on left side and was ok.

Romero and him wouldn't be fun for any CF.
Was just ok? He was one of the best players on the pitch in that second half.

King Kev was a colossus against Ipswich; Delap is a big unit and wanted a fight, and Danso was up for it.
Loads of great challenges and also good skill to bring the ball out.
Helped Gray out a lot, as Gray was outmuscled by Delap.

He was my MOTM. A massive upgrade on Davies at centre half in all aspects. Looks better than Dragusin as well.

I'd never heard of him either before he joined us.

So far seems just about perfect for us. Has a bit of everything to a good level.

Don't think he'll be first choice with Romero and VdV back, but will still get games. And if he keeps performing like this the drop off in quality and key attributes will be less impactful than it has in the past.

I don't think he deserves to be dropped. If Romero goes off to his national call up, doubly so.

I thought so too...but i'd worry that VDV looked the way he did only because he played 30 minutes. Romero did look worse though either way.

The only benefit I can see to have VDV on the bench is if we still need a goal and bringing him on Vs tired legs.

Not what you should be saying about your CB.

But he looked a lot sharper than Romero and Danso deserves to keep his place.

Danso indeed deserves to keep his place.

I think bringing on VDV later might even help us pres the opposition back a bit what with both Danson and VDV being relatively quick

I think he's showing to be a better option than Dragusin

He is, but at 26 having played 112+ games at top level with champions league experience vs a guy 3 years younger and literally half the experience, 62 or so games at top level, just more than half at international level as well, you would expect that.

Dragusin was probably not bought with expectation of having to play more than half a season, so he should have had more time to improve. Danso who is what you buy when you realize you will need them all the fudging time, and they need to have an impact now.

I think he brings a different game to our backline and will be interesting to see the mix.

It's interesting when you see most of our team plodding around, unable to beat a man, then Danso/VdV/Romero/Gray all can break forwards and beat 3 men and cause chaos, almost as though they are saying "FFS guys, just go like this, and this, and this boom gol"
