Juan Foyth

If stones is worth £50M as ball playing CB, this lad is worth £150M.
Thought he was our best player today.

I thought he was very good versus Rochdale and I loved the Vlad Chiriches-esque run he made with the ball in the second half.

Definitely too early to be carried away but anyone can see the massive potential visible in the kid. We knew he was good on the ball but every game I have watched him play in, he seems to be getting better at positioning and interception and was not bullied physically against some very direct strikers.

Physically he's handled himself very well in all his games. Not the biggest lad around, but good timing and decision making and must be stronger than he looks.

Some errors here and there as can be expected. Will be interesting to see what the plan is next season with him and how much he's trusted with a season behind him training with the team and playing some games.

Would love to see him on loan to a PL club next season

Personally I wouldn't. Based on two players per position, I'd want him as one of the 4 CBs, and then Dier/Wanyama as our 2 DMs. We've had a number of niggly injuries this season which last for a couple months, but it feels that we've had a bit of luck with injuries. For example, they've been quite spread through the team rather than any periods where we've had concentrated injuries at, for example, CB.

Some very good moments and looked assured most of the time.

Some shaky moments though. Like their first big chance after our throw, he was way out of position and made a bad call trying to play offside.

Not sure about his involvement for their first goal either. He tries to push up to win the ball back quickly, but doesn't get near it and left a big hole at the back.
Agreed, he is cultured but is making mistakes. Who knows where he will be in a few years, could be superb, could be playing for Hull. We just don't know.

Another very composed display from him. He seems a lot more comfortable strolling out of the back with the ball than Dier and Sanchez. There were a couple of mistakes, but in all honesty he looks a top top prospect every time I see him play.

There are the odd mistake, but considering his age, lack of experience in England or Europe and the fact he gets a different CB partner every time, he has done well.

After KWP’s lively cameo last night as well I was chatting with mates and it seems Poch is getting the succession planning in place for the defence. Could be a future of:

KWP - Foyth - Sanchez - Sessengnon

RS is a dream obviously, but it would be great! I know a lot can happen to form, etc. But it’s exciting on paper.

Are you aware that Sessengnon has effectively been basically playing on the left side of a front 3 all season? He does not play as a full back and now hardly ever plays as a wing back

He does look good. He needs to bulk up a bit though, looks a bit scrawny and gets rather easily pushed off the ball (he did yesterday as well, but recovered excellently). Great prospect though!

Yea I know he plays AM, but I think he could be moved to a wing back type role?

Just spitballing really.
