Playing an entire system just so we can fit one player into the team, a player who shouldnt even really be in the starting 11.
Why we wont win anything.

Its not to fit one in its to fit 2 in, both rooney and Milner shouldn't be playing and by squeezing them in we end up with Vardy playing left midfield and Kane on the right because we have zero width as Milner has dropped in alongside Dier.

Until Roy can see that both Rooney and Milner's inclusion is hampering England we won't see any improvement.
 
I can't see Vardy working at any position other than main striker, he doesn't have the movement or defensive nous to play wide, if Milner plays we might as well book our return flights now.
 
Walker flawless so far.
Rooney looks keen.
Vardys pace wasted.
Portugal not what they were.
Milner stealing a living.
England no chance at euros.

So poor from Hodgson....The initial selection and formation a total fudge up going forward. Rooney, Kane and Vardy made to look useless. Milner rubbish

Turgid.

I was quite optimistic a couple of months back, but it looks like we've lost the intensity we showed against Germany and have instead tried to shoehorn players in at the expense of the effectiveness of the team.

Hoping this wasn't an indication of what's to come, otherwise we may need to get in a bulk order of "turgid's" in readiness.

A very poor performance against, for most of the match, 10 men. Too many players playing out of position in a formation they don't fit in.

Walker and Rose looked very good going forward but had no cover if/when they lost the ball. Vardy and Kane looked far from leading goal scorers in the EPL but mainly due to them both going wide due to lack of midfield cover. Rooney is done for and Milner has forgotten how to pass or tackle. Until Sterling sent the ball in to the box for Smalling's goal he looked like a rabbit in the headlights and couldn't pass or move more than 5 yards at a time.

All in all Roy needs to forget about the diamond if he wants Rooney and Milner to play as it doesn't work. In fact just forget about Rooney and Milner and play the best we have.

in which case the problem with Diamond is who to play beside Wheelchair. Milner over Henderson for a bit of experience? Dont think Vardy can play in a side who aren't as negative as Leicester same as Darren Bent.
