Ingerlund

I don't think Rooney is right for the tournament on fitness & form grounds.

I don't think he adds anything as Captain or is able to postively influence things around the squad.

GHod I am glad I am not the only one

I would not take him personally

Trying to shoehorn Rooney in as some kind of midfielder will make him even more ineffectual than as a striker. We've seen what England can be capable of against Germany. Rooney and Wheelchair will turn us into same old brick England. Let alone Luke Shaw, what a joke.

Roy will want his players to show some gonads on the pitch; he should do the same by dropping Rooney. It wouldn't surprise me though if he was duty bound because of commitments to sponsers though.

Shaw on the list is beyond a joke. What ever happened to playing yourself into contention?

It occurred to me that Woy might try to take advantage of our core players/tactics.

One use for Rooney might be in the Mousa rôle. He's strong and has an eye for openings, and could get forward as an extra.

Rooney as front man is le reve passé

Edit 18 May - Rooney says midfield his future http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36318880

He's been awful. I appreciate that we don't have the greatest team but, our side is capable of entertaining, attacking football. The minimum we should expect is that we qualify and have either one of: Entertaining, attacking football or some kind of decent results. So far, we haven't achieved either of the second two under hodgson.

Crazy he is even being considered.

Utter madness. Especially considering the season that Rose has had - if there's one spot Roy shouldn't have to worry about, it's left back. I'm sure Shaw would probably have earned his place in the squad if he hadn't been injured, but he was, and he hasn't played since September (?), so just leave him for now and let him play his way back in contention for the next tournament.

Wheelchair - after an hour ?

Stones - after their rubbish defending ?

Henderson .... blimey, I'd forgotten about him.

I'd take Rashford rather than Sturridge.

I'd take Rooney as a midfielder.

Rooney can be wheelchair attendant. Forcing him into the team causes any of a number of problems. As the striker he hasn't being playing there, as a midfielder he replaces players better suited to the role, and on the left he probably won't stay there. His best role might be as super-sub.
