Hugo Lloris

Inevitable.

Verts will be off this summer too IMO.

Reinvest the Lloris and Verts money in buying quick direct British players to suit Timmeh's style.

This is why I suggested Butland as opposed Begovic (although I thought he was going to United?). Recently we seemed to have let a lot of our homegrown players go Huddlestone,Parker,Bale,Caulker, now Defoe, whereas none coming in.
Bring through the youth players will help, but we must be getting close to the limit

I've said before (in this thread I think) that Lloris will sign for Monaco this summer. I still think that'll happen.

i think he will stay one more year.....Vertonghen is the one who is much more likely to leave. Emirates Marketing Project or Man Utd. 30 mill thank you very much

How old is Begovic?? I definately rate him highly, but how many years will we get out of him? If relatively few then maybe Butland would be a good idea

Begovic is 26, younger than Hugo. Butland would be massively out of his depth.

when i see a player post something like this, i often wonder if he has spoken to the manager about it...
as sherwood's just come in, i don't think it would please him either ways.

this dude wants to leave. shame

tottenham survives though.....COYS

As usual AS, the quote doesn't quite say that.

I do think Lloris is a quality keeper, and without success (i.e. Cup wins or CL) our chances of holding on to any top quality (Carrick/Berbs/Modric/Bale -> Lloris/Verts) player for more than 2-3 years is low. The system we have at least means we profit as a business from it, but doesn't really help the team push on.

Re the comments about british players, no thank you, generally crap technically and easily 2X the price of a comparable European player ...

it never does, doesnt change the reality that it most liekly interprets to "if we dont make Champions league and an offer comes from a big club in champions league.....i'm outtA HERE!!!"

who ever comes out and says "i want ****ing out of this unstable place" mid season and makes enemies of everyone before they eventually leave. very rare unless extremely determined to force a move knowing a solid offer is on the table

most guys will keep their options WIDE open and wait for the offer they like.

right now lloris has pretty much issued a "i am looking for work in a top place" advertisement.

who care though......his name doesnt spell Tottenham

How paranoid are you lot? If that was an article about a player coming in you would write it off but when its one of our own its red alert?

dont understand the bit in bold?

i'm actually surprised you arent on red alert tbh....this happens every year with top playrs not playing with top teams in the top mini leagues

Quotes in the article don't match the content tbh.

Usually its agents behind these type of stories but in this case it looks its a French publication that wants the French goalkeeper playing in the champion's league. Hugo seems like the type that doesn't really care.

Totally agree with this and have said it many times myself. Modric was my prime example. I know he scored a few decent goals, but he could have scored so many more. At times he had a shot like a girl.
A few more goals to his tally with better shooting in that season and he would not have needed to look elsewhere to get CL football

And if he wasn't the pass master that he was then we wouldn't of been half as good as he was. It wasn't coincidence he went to one of the top clubs in world football. And if we had got CL football you really think he would have turned down Real Madrid anyway?
