its all Harrys fault

I have to say that I'm more inclined to blame the players who failed to take advantage of their superiority over a pretty ordinary QPR team.

but then - you lot would simply transfer the blame to Harry, who at the beginning of the season was Mr Motivator, and now is simply the antichrist.

he's putting the same players and same teams on the pitch and they are playing in the same way.

yet its all Harry's fault?

Harry has shown far more loyalty to this club - than the club has shown to its previous bunch of managers going back to Venables in the late 80s, yet he is disloyal and will fudge off as soon as it suits him. He has no tactical nous, yet if we finish top 6 this season it will be the first time we have had 3 top six finishes since the early 60s. Hes the only manager in the modern era to get us CL football and we are still thought of as being one of the most entertaining football teams to watch in the EPL - isn't that the Tottenham way? Entertainers. Isn't it all we hung on to when we were consistent mid table gonads?

Knock yourselves out boys. Lash out and whine all you like. In 10 or 20 years time, you lot will probably be looking back on the Harry redknapp era as if it were a defining cornerstone of all that Spurs represent, in all likelihood.

until the next Christian Gross comes to take over the reins.

Disappointment is set by expectation. When expectation is raised, but not achieved, it's natural to be disappointed.

Players and Harry and perhaps Levy need to accept the blame for this horrific slide. Them and the idiot who started the "mind the gap" flimflam.

It's swings and roundabouts, venger was getting it a few weeks ago, and I don't think he'll go, the england job is more poisonous than staying here.

Redknapp was always going to be a short term solution for us. IMO, Levy only brought Redknapp to save us from relegation place in 2009. He did well to give us CL football but that was as far as he could bring us. He is not good enough to win us any trophies. He is just the sort of manager who could keep his team battling for 4th-6th place every season, not more than that.

Don't ever (please) believe that I am satisfied by this slide in results, league status or ride to success.
I am heartbroken by all of this - in 37 years of supporting the club, I don't remember us promising so much and then dropping all the opportunities in such a dramatic fashion.

This is probably the most grief I have ever been in, over Tottenham Hotspur FC.

- particularly as I got tinkled yesterdy, in an effort to dull the pain.

No one will win us trophies mate, not until Ferguson retires anyway. 4th is about as good as it will get for us for ar least 4/5 years

GG should be our support group but we just tinkle each other off even more!!!

I am not talking about just league title. We were more than capable of winning either CC, FA Cup or EL this season. But Redknapp fecked up all that. We have been shyte in Cup matches ever since Redknapp took over. That is unforgivable. There is no excuse to become shyte in Cup matches just because we want to become top 4 in league. I think there is a reason why Redknapp have only won 1 trophy in over 30 years of management. He is not good enough to win them !

Has soon as Levy knew that Redknap was possibly taking the England job he would have thought of options and put out feelers, thats his job and he is good at it, I watched Saudi Sportswashing Machine yesterday and believe it or not they are a better team than us, it hurts me to say this but I think we overachieved before xmas.

.

My sentiments exactly.

I am of a vintage that remembers that season and yes, the pain of relegation still occupies a small part of my heart. Now, I might be looking at this with my rose coloured "Spurs" spectacles, on but I recall players like Jennings and Perryman giving 100% every game to try to stave off what had become almost inevitable by the Christmas.

What concerns me now is that by and large, football has become a mercenary business and whilst I agree with your ‘be careful what you wish for’ message, I still think by today's standards that Redknapp has taken us as far as he can. Indeed, based on results, you could argue that he has taken us backwards.

You're right - thing is saggy-face has done that once in his time with us and has failed spectacularly to do it again!
Yes I know there are 4 games left but the rot has set in. Do we really look like a team that will turn this shambles around?
I don't think so!

I actually think Levy has already cut a deal with the FA. The FA wouldnt be so stupid as to leave an appointment so late. Season finishes on 13 May; euros start on 8 June...thats less than 4 weeks

100% sure he has. And now the players know it. HR officially announced as England boss on Monday 14th May, footballs worst kept secret

even if we were down to the bare bones, if we had a system (like Swansea or ARse do) then players whether young or old could come in and do a decent job. We have a decent squad which Harry hasnt got playing to their potential and, as others said, he made the decision to loan 3 players out in Jan

The sooner this season is over and the clown leaves our club, the better

You see, no mention of anyone else here. HE got us into the CL. HE is credited with the top 6 finishes. And quite right, I agree. He was the key man. In reality, others play their part but everyone accepts the manager is the key figure at the football club. EXCEPT when results turn and then all the cliches come out about how 'there is nothing the manager can do when the players cross the white line!'.

In fainess, Redknapp hasn't come out with this stuff himself. He is right to say we're playing well and it can turn.

a good point which highlights a hypocrisy when evaluating a managers achievements/failures

DHSF - when these players are playing well the manager is given credit for getting them playing (how many people have hyped up how well Bale has come on since Redknapp has been here, same with Ekotto, Adebayor etc etc) surely it's only fair that it works the other way when they are under performing ? but in reality it all becomes 'Bale thinks he is Ronaldo' - Adebayor doesn't have the desire' etc

Oh I get it now, it is Levy's fault!

He's the one changing the team and the system of play all the time.
He's the one playing Bale out of position.
He's the one who works with the players in training, so much so that they couldn't put 2 accurate passes together yesterday.
He's the one who's tactics mean we cannot get behind teams anymore and have barely scored a goal away from home since Dec 28th.
I see it now!

I don't like the way Levy speaks to the press either. Using words like "they should be happy with what's happening, they're a team who have consistently finished 10th in the past" and "it'll be a miracle if we finish 4th" (last season).

I think some people need to get their heads out of Harry's arse.

Yes he got us top 4 and CL football for the first time but that is a distant memory and it isn't going to happen again any time soon if we keep playing a different system every other game.

Only thing which might suggest that he hasnt is that if all the players knew as well, it would amaze me if it didnt leak out

However, as I said, I really cannot believe that the FA would be leaving it til 14 May to start talking to someone - squads need to be named on 29 May and we play Norway and Belgium on 26 May and 2 June....they must have the person lined up already
