Would you keep Arry after the Season?

Good thing about Levy is that he is ruthless at times and certainly wont be afraid to sack him even if England don't come calling.

im not convinced by this

i think Levy is happy hovering around the top 5 or 6. The business continues to generate money, he runs a tight ship, we are not under threat of relegation, life is sweet for Levy.

Im not sure at all that Levy wants to lose Redknapp. We shall soon see once the season is over. Im very curious how our chairman behaves.

Thats not waffle...

THIS is a waffle...

That's not a blue waffle,

THIS is a ..... never mind

Young Boys???????

the away leg was a disaster of a night, and the home leg was and should always have been a formality

high points for me were the 1-0 away win at City, and the 3-2 win at the Effemerates. The 4-4 was special too. Inter home, Milan away were the standout CL results

thats about it

Thats quite a bit.......for a spurs fan

Another downside to all this.

At one point we finally thought we may have finally shaken off 'the old Spurs'. We were playing great football, beating Top 4teams home and away, winning games at places we never used too.

Ater all this, if we do get into the position next season 8,9 or 10 pts clear of a rival, I for one will never ever be confident we can close the deal. I really thought it had all fnally changed this season, but all the old insecurities have resurfaced.
A few weeks ago I was quietly confident we could go to Bolton and Villa and pick up wins, christ on a bike! Now I'm not even sure we'll score a goal, let alone win. ](*,)

I disagree with that. Yes, Levy is ultimately motivated by ?ú?ú, but he wants us desperately to be in the top 4 every season. We were hovering around 5/6th with Jol, and Levy didn't think that was good enough.

His gamble with Ramos eventually failed, but he could see we were gonna be 5th most seasons with Jol and aimed for that bit higher with Ramos. I genuinely like to believe that Levy wants us to do as well as we possibly can, and when Harry does go it will be interesting to see which managers we aim for.

When was the last time Spurs paid out substantial amounts to share holders? I was under the impression that this hadn't happened in a lot of years and that the money being generated is going back into the club.

Levy most certainly has higher ambitions than not being under threat of relegation, if that isn't clear to you by now I don't even know where to start.

and he is so quick to say that its going to cost big money to improve the squad, to take the next step....im sick of this bollox, there have been players out there available for reasonable fees who could have come in and improved us. He sprouts so much brick and the media and so many fans have lapped it up because he is cheeky chappy ****ney wide boy Redknapp. What a joker

He is one of those lazy managers, i despise them, simple man managers, relying solely on a nice word here, a sweet sentence there, but not contributing anything to actually improving players on the training pitch, not putting in the hours watching opponents on dvds, watching potential players over and over again, he gets paid 3 million a year for doing fcuk all, loves the praise, gets pi$$ed off with criticism, lives in a complete Saint Harold "it wasnt me guv" Redknapp bubble.

Please FA, make your move

Life Choice

He plays on the left, He plays on the leeeeft, Garath Bale, He plays on the left.................He plays on the right, He plays on the riiiight, Aaron Lennon, He plays on the right.....another weekend watching my kids questioning eyes on why there ol dad would convince them Spurs was a good life choice and Me hoping they don't catch on to My faux positives that are becoming all too familiar, another week of abuse and ridicule from the off the rack glory hunters with no tradition, history or connection with the club they have chosen this year and another weekend where I have to function as a father, husband and basic human when my guts have been ripped out by my beloved Spurs, poor decisions with teams that pick themselves, excuses based on the hope all Spurs fans have no memory or basic tactical knowledge, lack of imagination or foresight, Its o.k for some of them, they can walk away, Me, I don't have that luxury, Spurs for life, Redknapp for England!!! That's the summer ruined then!!!!!!!

the business generates money to keep up with rising salaries, so the money is re-invested into the club, the playing side.

Yes Levy has ambitions, but the financial welfare of the club comes first. And rightly so, we dont want to do a Leeds thats for sure. But as chairman, he knows that the club can do perfectly fine as we are if we make CL football or if we dont. He will not risk anything to go all out for CL football

Leeds - you have seriously gone down in my estimation. I can't believe you have Harry Redknapp as your friend on Facebook... ;)

Lol! Only so I can abuse him. Strangely enough he gives free tax advice and likes the gooners on there! Who'd have thought it!!

Truth is, he's not really to blame for what's happening. Strange as it may seem, I believe him when he says that's he's been doing the same thing since the first day of the season.

A lot of people give him stick for not having a back-up plan but, let's face it, who does? Most managers have a recipe for success and they just carry on with that, no matter what. Ferguson is possibly one of the few successful managers who's had the guts to change his system, on occasion. The rest? They just stick to what they think is best and adapt the squad to fit their system.

As for Redknapp, the writing was on the wall as soon as the press decided he was the next England manager. I don't know why but nobody ever survives the news they won't be there next season. Recently, Blanc was doing a fine job with Bordeaux... until the French FA hinted he'd be the next man in charge. Never won a game since. Same thing happened to Robson, when he announced he'd retire at the end of the end of the season - and that's just two examples.

That's just the way it is. The FA fudged our season. We should have asked for a straight swap with Capello. Anyone would have done a better job.

Spot on. Nice to see that you are still around

fudging spot on mate. 100% agree

I just thought I'd look at the respective records of Martin Jol and Harry Redknapp (as Spurs Managers):

Martin Jol

1st season 9th
2nd season 5th
3rd season 5th
4th season (sacked Oct)

Harry Redknapp

1st season 8th
2nd season 4th
3rd season 5th
4th season ? (but 6th is looking increasingly possible?)

In this results driven business, the cold hard facts of the matter are that under Redknapp, we are going backwards and Levy MUST act in the summer. At least by footballing standards, Martin Jol was consistent. However, like a Poster said on another thread, we need to freshen things up and bring in a Manager who advocates good attacking football.

Another thing...the "great man motivator" myth...

Harry is good at picking up players when he arrives at a football club because he knows the reason they are struggling is nothing to do with him. He can gee them up and make them feel 10ft tall.
When they are on a good run he is good at keeping the momentum going as he just keeps telling them how good they are and doesn't change a winning formula. This brings success to a certain degree.
The next phase is when you hit the wall. This is where the great "man motivator" should come into his own. Unfortunately Harry knows he only has himself and his players to blame for the slump. He can't come in fresh and build them up again because its his fault they're struggling in the first place. Of course Harry would never admit this so he begins to deflect all blame and criticism from himself and/or deny there is a problem.

We have hit phase 3 and Harry has no answers at all.

Seriously we should've sacked him and the coaching staff after the semi-final. I don't give a fcuk about FA compensation - we could be waiting for something that will never appear. Instead we're spunking ?ú30M up the wall when we could and SHOULD have qualified for the Champions League.

Exactly, glad others have noticed its now 4 wins. Strange that this week he isn't saying 'we will get top 4'.

I agree. Bale is pretty poor against teams sitting deep against us. His awareness and touch aren't great. He gets crowded out and tackled far too easily. And yet, he is one of our main threats and the players often look for him to do something when he isn't suited to doing it. He should be played at left back and the midfield should have something new added to it, a different threat. Guys like Modric, Rafa and Lennon should be a lot better in tighter spaces, but teams are just sitting deep, playing tight and showing little to no ambition against us. In this run, every team has done that to frustrate us and we haven't had an answer because we've been figured out. Against the bigger teams, Man United and Chelsea away, we actually looked like doing something.

Just watching Saudi Sportswashing Machine and the other thing to mention about them is that Ben Arfa is someone they've added to the team recently. He wasn't a regular starter at the beginning of the season and has had to wait for his chance, but now he is taking it.

All of this is easy to say with hindsight but it just seems like that is what is happening. We've been figured out. I'd love to see Gary Neville do one of his tactical break downs and see exactly where it's happened. It just seems like Bale should really be moved to left back. But even then, there's not exactly much else we can put in his position. And it's not as if Walker is pulling up any trees on the right hand side.

That'd probably be the broken leg keeping him out.
