General Transfer Rumour Discussion Thread

Whether we end up signing these players or not, I much prefer us being linked to this type of young player with great potential like Werner and Martial, they are hungry with a point to prove and therefore more malleable to Poch's tactical system.

i think these are the only type of players that will adapt to Poch's system and cope with all the hard work entailed on the pitch and also the training field.

While I agree that it is good to be signing young players, it is also important to make sure you knit them together with a bit of experience (this was one of the reasons why I thought Milner would've been a very good signing for us this Summer).

Dani Alves has signed a new 2 year deal at Barca, quite a surprise.....everyone expected him to leave on a free this summer, Utd and PSG heavily linked

apparently someone on Talksport has mentioned reports in Egypt say we have signed Salah?

Chelsea Loanee Could Move To Atletico Madrid Or Wolfsburg

Inter Milan joins race for Mohamed Salah!

Tottenham Close To Completing Mohamed Salah’s Transfer

Fiorentina badly want Egyptian international Mohamad Salah to stay in Italy after his loan spell there last season from Premier League champions Chelsea.

The former Basel winger is believed to prefer to stay in the Premier League and Mauricio Pochettino wants the 22-year-old winger to move to White Hart Lane. Chelsea would rather not sell to a rival and would prefer he moved to Italy.

Both clubs have submitted bids with the Spurs bid believed to be the higher of the two and could also offer him better wages, Inter Milan are also known to be interested. Chelsea bought Salah for £11.79 million (US$18.04m - AUS$23.59m - €16.05m) in January 2014 but after he flopped at Chelsea they loaned him out in February for the remainder of the season.

While Chelsea want £18 million (US$27.54m - AUS$36.02m - €24.51m) for him neither bid values the player that highly and with the pound being strong against the euro at the moment it is expensive for Italian clubs to buy players from the Premier League. Chelsea often work the loan system in this way, they buy players as investments, loan them out and sell them on at a profit, though what they are expecting for Salah is unrealistic, he hasn't improved from when they signed him and having failed in the Premier League is arguably worth less than what they paid for him.
There is little or no chance of Chelsea keeping him so they have to find a solution and it is believed Salah wants a resolution soon.

In 16 Serie A games he scored 6 goals and had 3 assists, a goal every 152 minutes and a goal or assist every 101 minutes. In addition to Serie A he played in the UEFA Europa League, the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, the Coppa Italia, the FA Cup and the League Cup last season, 7 different tournaments.

An experienced international, he has 22 goals in 35 appearances he returned to his best in Italy. He really came to the attention of Spurs fans at White Hart Lane when Basel embarrassed us at the Lane in the quarter-final of the UEFA Europa League, we eventually managed to drag a draw out of the game.

This article says they're trying to sell both Salah and Cuadrado and Bamford might leave too: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...ransfer-Rumours-Gossip-Cuadrado-Salah-Bamford

Those two and Pritchard with our current starting quartet of Kane, Eriksen, Chadli and Lamela would pretty much see us sorted up front. Just need that midfielder and possibly a starting CB.

Khedira and Dybala signed for Juventus. Continuing to build a good side

Dybala signed for them? wow, i missed that. Yes Juve are building a very nice side. I wonder if juve will play Moratta, Tevez and Dybala all at the same time. That is a hot front 3

Will still be missing a backup number 10 AM to compete with Eriksen. Pritchard is to me a cutting-in wing player. Lamela loses the ball way too much to play in that position.

LW: Chadli, Salah, Pritchard
RW: Lamela, Townsend, Salah
AM: Eriksen, XXXX, Pritchard, Kane
FW: Kane, Werner

I know he violates us every time we play against him, but I really don't rate Salah. He is the sort of paceman who looks amazing on highlight reels but can't actually cross or finish with any consistency.

Then again, any sort of directness on the wings would be appreciated.

Hopefully we hold out for someone a bit better and have him as a backup option.

Werner, Werner, Werner....

..I've been proposing this guy's signing for about a year now. I do hope we get him, I really feel that he can make the step up to become a brilliant striker in time. Provided a) Poch wants him, and b) he's amenable to be played out on the wings to be an inside forward from time to time, a la Martial. :)

He reminds me a lot of MIchael Laudrup. Obviously he is nowhere as good (yet), but just his running and dribbling style remind me of the great man. Very direct and fast from the limited few times I've seen him.

We've reportedly bid for him and failed according to Bild.

Well, bid again. Bid more. Throw in Kaboul, if they're amenable to such a thing.

Between him and Anthony Martial...well, I like 'em both, but I'd actually prefer Werner. Same blistering pace, perhaps Martial's a bit more physical than Werner, but I do feel that Werner's got that intelligence, that tactical awareness that puts him above a talented but somewhat undisciplined player like Martial.

Do you mean his brother Brian Laudrup? He was a fast, direct winger.
Michael on the other hand was a rather slow playmaker, one of the best players I have ever seen.
