Gedson Fernandes

He's a CM/RCM player, and has been quite good in previous cameos for us. Judging him and writing him off after a few minutes as a LW in a game where we had completely lost control of the game, is just plain ridiculous! Some you in here are just utterly pathetic! Grow up!

He is an athletic type too who looks like he has an engine
But we should write him off now now as he has played at least 5 games
 
Almost forgot him and can't say there's any reason to remember him. With the shape of the restart team lineup and play, it looks, like we don't have a need him or need something else to progress. What else was Gedson known for besides a great engine?

Great technical ability, doesn't seem to be afraid to get stuck in. I think he's been quite good in his cameos, except one, where he was played as a left winger, which was odd. He's been a lot better than Sessegnon, that's for sure! Will he become a world class player? Probably not. Useful? Yes. He's only just turned 21, so lots of time to develop.
 
Can we terminate the loan? Are we obliged to buy? Because 50 mill for a guy who barely gets a sniff at first team football just doesn't seem worth it.

No don’t think we’re obliged to buy. Still one of the weirder transfers in recent history though IMO - a position we’re already stacked in, with a massive fee to buy even though the kid’s barely played first team football, then doesn’t get a sniff as you say. People say it was to put him the shop window for Mendes, but he’s been less in the window than he was at his last club - he’s practically in the fudging basement! Bizarre.
 
Can't see how anyone is benefiting from this deal. It's a crazy high fee to make it permanent, he's young and needs to play to help him develop, he's obviously not good enough to play for us, Benfica don't get to use one of their better players and his value is just going down by the day.
I'd rather fill his squad place with one of our youth players to be honest.

No it would be like handing your mother in law's christmas present that you didn't want back to her.
Gedeon is here because of Jorge Mendes.
But Jorge Mendes, as well as being Mourinho's agent, is our only chance of getting backup striker in right now.
It's either him or no plan father in law Steve Hitchen.
