Gedson Fernandes

Not a bad players, has looked tidy when given game time and not out of his depth. Comment above is about right, could take Sissoko's place in the squad but nothing more than that. If the fee was lower I wouldn't be against signing him for 10-15m but no way is he a 40-50m player.

Sissoko is a regular starter for us - you think Gedson has shown he can do that?

We've got a couple in the u23s that don't look any worse than Gedson and wouldn't take up a foreign place and we have Skipp coming back at the end of the season.

I think he could do yeah, hasn't really performed badly or exceptionally but seems fairly reliable, also never had a run of 6/7 starts either to get into a rhythm and is likely still adjusting to the league. They are different types of players however.

I don't think he's shown anything other than he's a neatvand tidy player and as we only have seen him in a handful of appearances over a fairly long period it is more than a bit of a stretch to think he's capable of being a first team regular
 
I think we were desperate for bodies in midfield at the time and Gedson had a bit of a name so we took the gamble approach. Fortunately we took him on loan first so no long term damage done to the finances.
 
Good luck to him, he has shown he has talent but with so many players for his position it was always going to be hard for him to impress. Still only 21 and capped at national level i would not be surprised to see him become a very good player, sadly not here.
 
Had genuinely forgot about him. Never really sure what his best position was. I suspected he may have been the grease for the Doherty deal, so that’s two reasons to look at it as a nonsense signing.*

* I jest of course, I thought Doherty on paper was an excellent service signing and the immediate impact on Aurier has justified the fee already!
