Now at 31 I am in favour of regime change.
I doubt Staveley is arranging Qatari investment for regime change. More likely investment like £X00m for 25% of Spurs or whatever, plus they can do things like sponsor the stadium for £Ympa, wipe away our debts saving us £Zmpa, enabling us to spend £Y+Zmpa on wages and fees.

She has just liquidated her investment companies as she lost a court case to a Greek shipping company

I doubt much would be on wages and fees. It would most likely be on development projects on the land Spurs own.

Yeah you cant spend on the team now, Saudi Sportswashing Machine and others have been finding that out.

Any investment would be to build the hotel and the houses on the 3 other plots the club owns on the west side of the high road (love lane area)

It's nothing new. We've been looking for investment since the riots. Remember stories of trying to get the saudis interested.

Can anyone estimate the likely upfront cost?

SE corner - hotel + 50 flats
The Depot - 400 flats
The Goods Yard - 500 flats
The Printworks - 75 flats

Does the £650m for 25% of the club figure quoted cover a hotel and 1000 flats? Obviously it will pay back 3 or 4 fold when the flats are sold off.

The hotel should already be budgeted for. Probably the £50m left over of enics investment and some other. It will probably be everything else they are looking for.

Hotels are cheap I guess. Just 180 portacabins stacked and bolted together, with a bit of cheap cladding.

I suppose most modern flats are quite similar too actually.

I think the original loan for new WHL included the hotel project (someone can correct if not true). Its likely also that a hotel brand who came in on the project would maybe be asked to invest (most hotel brands are investment companies OR owned by them). So the funding won't be hard to find

Daniel was probably hoping (waiting) for the area to develop and the stadium to make it's mark as a multi use venue before casting the fishing hooks out.

I mean, hands up who wants to build a hotel in N17??

Not sure how it works with a hotel but for housing/flats don’t the developers usually cover most of the building costs in return for a cut of sales revenues later?

Yeh I think so, I think there are def different scenarios but yeh I am 99.9% sure thats one. On the hotel side some hotels contribute as I say as an investment OR they franchise, so basically just go in, brand it, run it and take a nice %

Yeh true, but now its going to be a prime hotel, NFL, Spurs, Concerts, Sports, its guaranteed as many if not more peak stays than other hotels in the city AND it is going to be a conventions destination both in the hotel and stadium with added attractions for people to hold their meeting there.

Someone will do well out of it now

There's got to already be some market for Beyonce fans who don't fancy the 3 mile walk to Seven Sisters at 11pm. The increase in the number of events permitted will likely have added substantially to that.

Most hotel brands rent the space owned by others

These sort of projects are debt finabaced
You build in stages and show the financier you have done it… then you get paid for what you have done
You need your own seed capital which I’m sure the club have. If the club was borrowing money for the build though it would be shown on the accounts and people would be reporting on it
