Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

They have a lot of money in kitty from Benteke sale ..

I suspect the deal structure would look like, 5M or so to Spurs, a significant sign on bonus to Ade and lesser wages (same money, more upfront for him and it appears like his wages are lighter). Either way, they sign one striker for 32M, get in a replacement their manager wants, and probably put out no more than 9-10M ... not bad math if Sherwood can get Ade's head sorted (and to compare, similar to last season with Benteke, a run of 10 games in form would be all they would need for survival).

They have nothing in the kitty beyond some wages freed up. Lerner will have pocketed most of it as repayments on his loans.

The new TV money would have covered that easily.

I don't know how much he has put in, but with all the rumours of a sale being imminent he probably wants to recoup as much as possible as soon as possible. TV money isn't paid out up front anyway.

Yes, but the fact is, new tv money +30-odd million in (Benteke & Delph), they need to buy someone (they barely survived last season).

Ade for anything sub 7-9M (price +bonus) is probably way above any other option they will get.

Lerner may have to speculate to accumulate. I am pretty sure Tim wants him though I doubt the Villa board will sign off on this....mind you the same board negotiated a contract for Delph with an absurd buy out fee, so who knows.

Surely for speculations sake we loan him out for no fee and end up paying half his wages its still benefits us slightly and saves us 50 odd k a week...we could then go in and buy another young striker/wing forward.

Ade will want a 3 year contract no doubt, in Villa's precarious position I cant see them taking that risk on ju ju man.

Think that is the point, they don't really have a lot of power to negotiate on. (that's how a lot of these struggling clubs get in deep trouble)

Goals keep you up, Tim obviously feels he can get that out of Ade .. would be surprised if they didn't give Tim Ade, he could walk too ...

If Tim really walks if he doesn't get Ade then he's
a) throwing away a good job where he is under relatively little
b) showing the football world and future employers how much of an unreasonable bellend he is; it's not like there aren't other strikers who could do a job for Villa beside Ade...

You're judging Tim on someone's idle internet speculation ?.

How quaint.

It has been pretty widely reported, if its only a wild rumour and idle speculation then its caught on very well.

I think with Tim the guy is his own biggest fan, if you had an ego competition between him and Brendan Rodgers it would be a struggle to find a winner, he backs himself to get the best out of Ade when no-one else can.

No, 2 years ago. Hence Tottenham were able to make 60m profit this year.. First year we paid of debt I believe

The 3 year deal started 2 years ago went from 1.7B to 3B, they basically negotiated two set of deals close together, the next new deal starts 2016-17 and goes from 3B to 5.1B

Remember Villa have stopped spending since Martin O'Neill left the club about 2010-11.

Randy Lerner would have easily recouped the loans he paid the club in that O'Neill era.

Its why is so frustrating that we keep hearing about having difficulties financing the stadium, when ex goon players come out and say we will fill the pinch like Arsenal did.. NO we won't. TV income has gone up around 100m a year to us from 2016. With the TV deal, the new housing, the naming rights.. we could pay for the stadium in 5 years. That's without even mentioning the new revenue's when its actually built.

That is my point .... from whom has this originated ?. If Tim thought this, who would he confide in or (as some would have it) to whom would he blurt this out ?.

I don't think Tim Sherwood has ever had any problems with "blurting out" his opinions.

We will, but only if you look at it comparatively.

All clubs in the PL have much more money. All clubs in the PL will be spending more on wages/transfers. We will be increasing our spend by less than our rivals because of the stadium build.

That said, the cost of the stadium will be a smaller proportion of our transfer kitty than it was for the goons.

Levy should play hard ball with Ade. Not a lot (more) to lose and possibly much to gain. If he can shift Crapoo and Pauline, then anything is possible.

What are you suggesting? As we saw with AVB, Ade would not blink an eyelid if sent to train with the kids - as long as he continues to get his payday

Firm but fair is the way to go with Ade....

I presume we have told he has no future here? (no squad no ect)

We might not be able to get all his wages taken off us but just getting him gone is the most important thing, We need to look like we are helping Ade to get 1st team football....with recent history of west hams botched loan, poor relations between Levy/Ade getting rid of ju ju wont be easy.

he'll never get another job as big as this, I expect even he realises that

Are you kidding??? Sherwood's CV is looking just fine right now

- he's walked into two clubs in mid season turmoil and produced an instant uptick using existing players, with a good 2nd half run and attractive football
- there will always be a mid tier club feeling a little squeaky bum time at mid season
- No matter how this season turns out, he can play the club sold my two best players and didn't re-invest excuse

Look at the managers in the PL over the last 3-5 years, I'm not a TS fan, but he's a better option than quite a few.

Re my earlier comment, I have no ITK on the situation, just it seems clear (from speculation) that TS wants Ade, and his ego typically forces him to get his way or else ...
