probably positive, he plays well in his first season, he's played well under captain bellend, he's stylistically a good replacement for Benteke

Having a quick look at a Villa forum seems you may be right to a point. That said, some are quite cautious and would prefer a loan deal with option to buy.

Very heterogeneous remarks. Some think he will be their next Darren Bent; others suggest he is the best they can get and believe Sherwood can get the best of him again.

I would imagine a year's loan would be best for all parties; Tim knows Ade is dynamite when playing for a new contract and will sell it to his board that there is no long term committment until he proves himself and we will get rid but avoid having to play against him next season. If we ask for a minimal loan fee he will only cost Villa some 5 - 6 mill for the year, which they can certainly afford. Also it'd a more likely scenario for Ade to accept as he then has his options open next summer if he wants to rake in millions in the Middle East and can negotiate a contract as a free agent.

Oh no, I absolutely agree about that. I just always assumed would be one of the rich clubs from abroad who would take a punt, wouldn't of envisaged Villa forking out his wages...
 
reports that Villa are signing Callum Wilson from Bournmouth as Benteke's replacement. They also want Batshuayi apparently.

no squad number, no competitive games played in a year and released when contract runs out next summer.

He's in the last year of his contract, so that's not possible. He'd be free to sign a pre-contract for an overseas club from January. Villa would need a permanent deal now to tie him down.
 
If no one will take him, I'm happy to keep him for one last year as our third choice striker. Kane and whoever else we bring in will be playing before him.
