Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

Do you think this petty crap is more important than getting rid of a player the coach doesnt want.

Not sure if you've read through today's postings mate...if you had, you will see my opinion. The fact remains, whatever you and I think, here is the result! To repeat my PERSONAL view, it was time for both to say goodbye and given that Levy never had intentions of letting him go to West Ham, or subsiding his wages 50%, I am disappointed we kittend him around only to say 'no' at the death. Again, to me it smacks of game-playing.

I think Pochettino is pretty happy to keep Adebayor. He seems to speak well of him and Ade hasn't been banished to train with the reserves or anything. I think the coach will be more than happy to upgrade in the Summer, but would rather have the player for the squad than nobody.

Poch is quality and will absolutely make sure he does what he needs to do for the squad. As for Ade, he is with us until the summer so he gets my full support.

I would probably be just as irate as you IF it was stopping us from signing a new striker Poch wanted....Truth is our targets dont seem to be available until the summer!

Bit of a mess with this!!! losing Ade only having 2 strikers would weaken us! or would it as he's been so turd this season!

Personally I am going to focus on the positives of today....which are Kane 5 and a half years and D Alli! Well done LEVY!

If he had gone we could be caught short in the run in, but the problem is sometimes him on the pitch is a waste of space if he does not want to be there. I blame who ever gave him a permanent contract. The guy has an attitude, we need to research more then just a players skill level so we do not make mistakes like this again.

Poch seems to like hard working players obviously some skill is needed as well. But he wants honest players I hope with this mitchell chap we are going to be more thorough in our approach.

Telegraph suggesting we would've loaned to Spam as long as they picked up his full wage, so maybe not game-playing. I'm torn because I think keeping him is bad for the dressing room, and his recent performances look like he's doing an impression of someone making an effort, but loaning to Spam and then they finish above us is potentially an epic fudge up.

This comment would be telling if it weren't from that idiot Gold:
"people out their that you just can't do business with".

Glad we kept him to be honest given the choice that there was no one else available (realistically).

Would have been madness to leave ourselves short when we are still in 2 cup competitions and the league.

Exactly... Ignoring the previous history, Gold is annoyed we would not give them a player and pay his wages as well...

More Machiavellian tricks from Levy? ... I wouldn't put it past Levy to deliberately stuff Wham's plans on the last day completely so that they ended up with nothing. Not sure Levy ever wanted to sell him at all.

Whatever Levy's intention, I think the result is hillarious regarding West Ham. I'm sure I heard this morning that players can still be sold to teams in the Middle East? Wouldn't be surprised to see Ade end up out there this week.

Weekend and work meant I haven't been able to come on here and even after a few days I get shocked at the venom in some of the statements angled towards our own players. He is here, he is staying so we should back him, not slaughter him.

Or try and sell him to a club in Russia or the Middle East.

So west ham rock up on deadline day and ask to sign one of our strikers, but they don't want to stump up the cash and buy him, no, they want him on loan and for us to pay half his wages for the privilege! Had we agreed to it it would have left us with 2 senior strikers for the rest of the season, where we could potentially play about another 30 games or so!

And Levy's the one getting stick for this?!? Honestly, that club is so amateur!

Exactly right
He is our player and we sell him on our terms surely

If they don't wanna play ball then feck them

Considering they had 8 deals on the go and didn't get one through, maybe they should be looking in the mirror instead of laying the blame elsewhere.

Jenas mentioned something interesting about Adebayor yesterday. How we had him doing specific training to build muscle in his legs. Will have to see if I could listen to it again but it seemed as if AVB wanted players to put extra work on the training ground whilst Ade wanted to put extra work in the gym.
