Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

Are we getting rid because we want to or because we've been pressured into it by a section of fans? Maybe they just see that his position is now untenable? Wonder if the whole caboodle will ever come out?

Well, the vote is pretty conclusive that 4 out of 5 fans want him gone.

Depends really.... if he rips it up for them and were paying for half of it then Levy would look like a fool....

on the other hand Levy really wants rid.....so I doubt its an easy decision for him.

Who gives a brick how West Ham do.
Poch wants him out.
Levy needs to pay for that.

Levy can not win over this, there will always be the usual Levy is brick posts.

Listening to talk sport, just had a caller moaning that we are letting ade and Lennon go and not replace them.

None of us know what is going on at the training ground. We gave to trust poch know what he is doing.

We still need a focal point upfront. No Kane and all there is Soldado. We are in 3 competitions still. Would much prefer Ade up front than Lamela.

IF it was 'motivated happy Ade' then absolutely 100% correct. My fear is that unhappy unmotivated Ade will simply not be mobile or hungry enough. Lamela (or Chadli) would certainly be mobile and hungry at least. I understand your concern but it is as much about whether these players will work for the team or not.

I do if they end up finishing above us, heck they are only 4 points below us as it stands. It is one thing to strengthen them, but it would be mad for us to help them become stronger by contributing to his wages

Excately this, its just another reason for those who want to slag Levy off.

I agree with Levy (assuming it's not all made up!)

West Ham are too close to us in the table for us to want to strengthen them. QPR on the other hand, no problem.

Emmanuel Adebayor move to West Ham blocked by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy

Daniel Levy personally intervened to stop Emmanuel Adebayor making a controversial loan move to West Ham United because he will not pay for the striker to play for Tottenham Hotspur’s fierce rivals.

West Ham made an enquiry over taking Adebayor on loan until the end of the season after hearing that Spurs had been willing to subsidise his £100,000-a-week wages to join either Queens Park Rangers or Crystal Palace.

Adebayor turned down both QPR and Palace, but West Ham were told by Tottenham chairman Levy that, unlike the other two London clubs, they would have to pay Adebayor’s full salary to take him to Upton Park.

West Ham were prepared to pay half of Adebayor’s wages, but, with time running out on transfer deadline day, Levy was refusing to do the Hammers any favours.

Levy told West Ham officials that he could not pay a player to appear in the claret and blue of Tottenham’s bitter rivals, particularly with the clubs only separated by six points in the Premier League table.

Spurs had been hoping to offload out-of-favour Adebayor, but now face having to accommodate the 30-year-old and his expensive salary for the rest of the season.

Adebayor did not want to join a relegation fight with either QPR or Palace, who were confident of agreeing a cut-price deal with Spurs, after seeing potential moves to Roma and Paris Saint-Germain fall through last week.

You posted that at 8.22pm, yet SkySports have just announced this as if its the frickin moon landing

Common sense prevails! Hope fans now dont boo completely counter-productive. Crazy to decide to get rid of Last Years Top scorer without a replacement

Would have left us with a player who cant score and somebody who is still in his breakthrough season!

agree completely. there is absolutely nothing to gain from him joining west ham. if we want to bomb him out badly enough just ban him from the training ground.

i suppose if West Ham are going to take on 100% of his wages its a factor to consider?! Still wouldn't do it anyway.

Maybe with the fans booing him the club were eager to cut their losses and reduce the wage bill. But I think Poch had been happy to work with him. Get him fit, get him ready...and who knows he may have a role to play over what is going to be a high number of games season. Though it might have to be away from home that Ade breaks into the team!
