Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

One more question for those at the game last night - I heard a long:

We want you to leave,
We want you to leave,
Blankety blank,
We want you to leave.

I'm hoping the gap was filled with 'archway metals' but honestly couldn't tell... Friends thought it was Adebayor...

I didn't hear it, then again I find it hard to understand most of the songs that are sung. lol

And now comes Andros Townsend saying good things about Ade and how he's a hard worker at training and a good bloke in general. It's in The Daily Maelstrom. Quotes an' all.

Ade has declined ever since the shooting on the team bus. It obviously affected his perspective on life, in terms of what was important to him. He even commented as such. I can understand that. However, if playing for Spurs is now just a bit of a giggle given his new perspective, he can just **** off. You cannot afford to take a self indulgent attitude, when 'earning' a 100,000 pounds a week. If football is not such a big deal, he should retire.

do you know this to be true?

and if so i think we or even he deserves to know how...

He made it clear that the incident changed his priorities in life. Fair enough. Football isn't important compared to what happened in that horrific incident. However, if football doesn't come high in his list of priorities he should give it away. Evidence? Look at his happy go lucky attitude. Again, nothing wrong with that. Just take it Sunday League games, not the Premier League.

But money is clearly very important in his life. (He does give a fair bit to charity.)

That's very good of him. He can continue to that whilst he is playing for some pub team as far as I'm concerned. Look I really understand why someone would see the world in this way, after going through something as traumatic as that, but not at the expense of the club. It's self indulgence of the highest order.

He can't get by on what a pub team pays him. He'll be looking for on last long term deal when he leaves us, probably to the Middle East.

I just don't think he suits the way Poch wants us to play very well. To slow on the ball, doesn't link up very well with Eriksen, Kane, Mason, etc. He's a quality player on his day, but these days now seem far and few between. I think we'll be better off replacing him this summer, with someone else who fits our playing style better.

Makes me cringe to hear our so called "fans" booing him when he plays though.

These comments annoy me, how do you know he is anymore self indulgent that Eriksen or Kane? No one knows other than what they see on the pitch, hear in interview or read in the press??

Its just a general statement to whack a player you just basically don't like or rate

I do think its time for him to move on it would be best for all parties, however the brain dead macarons who booed him the other night need to **** off as well. The mentality of so called supporters booing their own players is shameful.

You are right, I don't rate him, because he has taken the **** out of the club and the fans for far too long. my opinion would be the same of any other player.

Agree absolutely. Booing your own players should never happen.

I don't see how you come to the conclusion of taking the ****, seriously I don't.

First Season:

17 goals in 33

Second Season:

5 in 25

Third Season:

11 in 21

This season:

2 in 10

Now I grant the second season was poor, but then I look at Lukaku who is 30m of player and his record this season is shocking, I also take into account 3 managers in that period and when a manger (who again is hated) in Sherwood taps into his strengths he scores goals again. Two seasons of a goal a game and one poor season isn't taking the **** for me or by any stretch and I don't need opinion against fact, that's like arguing on what's the larger number 5 or 20.

Are you are counting cup games? All my posts have related to PL only.

League

Even if I included cup it wouldn't mater either, people love us to be in the cups and berate if the club doesn't take it seriously, but you try counting a players goals in their record, that's a no no (just look at Defoe)

Yeah, the s*** Ade gets is totally unjustified. It's mainly bourne out of commentators and pundits as well. People hear that he is lazy and can't be a**ed and then they just mindlessly quote this whenever he makes a mistake. Meanwhile, certain other players get away with blue murder.

I happen to think that Ade did just as well as anyone else against Sheffield Utd for example, but he gets singled out for abuse.

The guy clearly has issues off the pitch. Now if it continues to affect his on-pitch performances, then we would do right for both parties to move him on, fresh start etc, but to say Ade hasn't massively contributed to Spurs while he was here is just plain wrong.

Infact, if it wasn't for his goals last season, things could have got pretty brutal for us truth be told.

What you've posted says it all, 2 good solid seasons, 1 poor one out of the full seasons he's had, yet you read what fans think of him and you'd be forgiven for thinking he was a donkey of Rasiak proportions.

Seriously the personal abuse levelled at him is shocking, particularly when other players who have more of a case to answer in terms of loyalty, work-rate, application etc get away with barely a peep.
