Always someone else's fault hey Ade!

Don't know whether to laugh or cry at that.

Re: Official - Adebayor

At least he looked embarrassed, didnt think our players had that emotion! He has been a dusgrace the last few games, reverted to type! New contract must be agreed

Re: Official - Adebayor

Adebayor only plays well when he has something to prove. It is a fact which has been proven many times. You can't expect him to perform throughout a whole season.

Re: Official - Adebayor

Sell sell sell, before everyone else realize his purple patch ended 3 months ago and he's back to his inconsistent self.

Starting to agree with this. So unreliable. So good and then so bad in such a short space of time

Can you really trust this club to bring in 2 decent strikers in 1 window though? i mean we still haven't managed to properly replace Keane or Berbatov adequately yet so what's the odds we can replace 2 strikers in 1 summer?

Re: Official - Adebayor

Blame it on Soldado. If he had been any decent this season, we wouldn't have relied so much on Adebayor.

Completely agree!

I was saying that from when he had a good couple of months.

Hopefully we'll manage to make one or two teams forget about how patchy he is with his hot form over the past few months and agree to take him off our hands and his 170k/ week wages.

2 good things Sherwood has done:
Playing Bentaleb and Kane, 2 players who look like they have some role in the squad now
Making Adebayor possible to sell again

So it's a choice between two things we don't trust to happen. Ade performing consistently over a full season and the club signings at least one, hopefully two good strikers.

At least with the new strikers there's potential there for something a bit special and we could get in someone a bit younger that could be better 2-3 years down the line. 2-3 years down the line and Ade will probably be close to done again.

I'm leaning towards selling him at least, but for sure I see your argument and it probably wouldn't be super bad to keep him.

Re: Official - Adebayor

Should just try for Remy and Lukaku/Bony.

All proven goalscorers in the PL. Remy has the flexibility of playing wide forward too.

Though he's probably going to end up at Arsenal now

Re: Official - Adebayor

Must be nearly time for the last big payoff at the Galatasaray semi retirement home.

Re: Official - Adebayor

A year from now according to transfermarkt and the news when we signed him.

I like Ade, sort of, but if any sort of a decent offer came in for him now we should take it. I doubt any will mind considering his wages. **** it we're stuck with him.

Re: Official - Adebayor

Emmanuel Adebayor says he has “huge respect” for Tim Sherwood, and he hopes that Tottenham’s head coach keeps his job.

Adebayor fell out with his previous boss, Andre Villas-Boas, at the start of this season and made just one substitute appearance in Spurs’ first 26 games of the campaign under the Portuguese.

However, when Sherwood was appointed in December, he immediately brought the Togo international back into the team, and he has played in 23 out of 27 games under the new management, while hitting 13 goals.

Now it seems Sherwood could be replaced this summer, but Adebayor wants his current coach to keep his job.

“Hopefully he stays, but I am not the chairman of the club so I can’t tell you anything about that,” said the striker. “We will see what happens in the future.

“No matter where he goes, I will always keep him in my heart and I have a huge respect for him - as a manager, as a friend, as an ex-footballer, because he knows what it takes to be a footballer. He respects everyone equally, and for me he is a great man and a great manager.”

While Adebayor’s comments are clearly intended to be supportive of Sherwood, they could also be interpreted as a dig at Villas-Boas, who never played the game professionally before starting his career in coaching.

That personality clash has left Adebayor to reflect on a season on two halves – one spent exiled from the team and the other as one of the first names on the teamsheet.

And, as the striker looks ahead to next season, he believes the 2014/15 campaign could be his best yet.

“I just want to forget the bad moments and look to the good ones and the good games I have played and learn from that, and work hard for the next season,” he said.

“Hopefully I will have a proper pre-season, because for the last three years I haven’t had one. It’s very difficult for a player not to have a pre-season.

“I’m definitely looking forward to that one and hopefully this will lead to my best season ever. I have the quality and a big belief in myself. I know I can do it and I will do it.

“For us as a club and a team of players, we’re all disappointed [with this season]. Now we will go away, have a holiday, refresh our bodies, come back and hopefully next season will be better.

“The last three or four months have not been that bad, there are a lot of positives to take out of it, and we just have to learn from our mistakes and keep going. Obviously I think we can do definitely do better than what we have done this season.

“The club is in a better position than me to know what to do. I’m a footballer and will do my best, which is to train hard and play hard.

“Now we have to look forward to the last game of the season at home, then go on holiday and see what will happen.”

Thats an old interview.

Re: Official - Adebayor

Not buying a word of that.

Just unnecessary, thinly veiled digs at AVB. Him saying that he trains hard is laughable considering it's been quite the contrary at every club he's played at.

Adebayor reverts to type when he has nothing to prove and I wouldn't expect him to carry any this form over to next season if he stays.
