If Arsenal tie up the signing without Eze playing the European game for Palace, that'll be a fair indicator that either the club or the player were drawing this out to either get more money from Arsenal (Crystal Palace) or wait for the preferred destination (Eze)

Is it was the contract public knowledge and published ? Not digging genuine question.. also wouldn't have stopped the scum offering the same . MGW also had a release clause as well right and was reported we triggered that ... also ended well ... all it is in reality is a chance to start negotiations. We don't say here's 68 mil and he comes here tomorrow... not how it works in anyone's world ...

I offered asking value for a house last year no chain could have moved quickly as both properties were empty all going well offer accepted then 5 days later someone came in and gazumped me despite being in a chain and I wasn't going to pay what the estate agent advised me to bid .... and sadly that transaction was for a lot less than 60+ mill ... it's more complex than we are making out here

I’m gutted because Eze is my favourite non spurs player and it’s my birthday today so was a nice “gift”
But he isn’t the only option
If I was him… I’d have serious considerations as to why Arsenal have waited.. but of course we ding know any inside track
That would have a huge effect on what decision I made for sure
But he has his hasten there being an ex Arsenal kid
He also is exactly what they are missing imo

Equally, looking at how Frank wants us to play and create, Eze would be the least 'Frank' type player of our top drawer talent. I heard early on that the reason we did not go in initially was because Frank was not convinced about his workrate, and that he was subsequently convinced that he could work well for us. Let's see on Sept 1st who has who. I don't actually think Eze helps the goons swuad balance that much. Waneri must be gutted having just signed a new contract and basically told the manager believes in him, only to see it'll be another couple of years in the shadows.

One thing which is undeniable is that Daniel does have a penchant for not getting supposed 'key' deals across the line...

Again, he has done incredible things for this club AND he has an endemic problem when it comes to not wanting to get the final jab/point/'win' in a deal.

Savinho + any one of Akilouche/El Khannouss/Paz would make a superb window

The MGW contract came down to an 'interpretable' release clause as I understand it i.e. poorly worded. That's what I heard. Eze? There is literally no reason we did not close the deal we agreed two days ago unless we were playing the 'we can chip a little more leeway here' game believing Arsenal were not going to come back in.
