Draxler

It's got nothing to do with the fee, it's more that if Draxler really is available there will be bigger teams who can offer him more money that will be in for him....

He is not meant to be a goalscorer. Matuidi is all about energy, breaking up opposition attacks, making surging runs from midfield. You could throw the same criticism at Dembele, the lack of goals, but he offers so much more and is missed when doesn't play. It's the same with Matuidi.
Sure. But the fees for goalscorer are generally quite a bit higher than for those who aren't. I simply gave some reasons for why I don't think the price is all that out of the ordinary.

PSG have just said he's available for £40m. Could be that extra versatile dribbling AM we really need?

Fee and wages should be affordable if balanced by Jan/Summer outgoings of some of Janssen, Sissoko and GKN.

The big question of course though is not his talent, but his attitude. The too big for his boots type isn't really Poch's thing. But have two failed moves given him a bit of humility and hunger?

It'd be a lot easier if you liked to the story GB. Are you talking about the stories saying Arsenal being have been given the green light?

Kevin de Bruyne mk II I believe is the theory, albeit in different position? not sure......Pep might be the missing ingredient there!
Draxler is OK but.....and his wages...

Thanks. So it is the Arsenal story.

"PSG have sounded out Draxler’s suitors and named their price with the hope Arsenal will bite."

That could be anyone. Especially a club like us known to be in the market for a dribbling AM. Arsenal's interest is known (they have to appease their fans about Sanchez and Ozil leaving), but we generally prefer to work off radar for as long as possible

Has he been playing well? Why do PSG want him out?

Think City, think Madrid, PSG operate beyond actual football. They are playing a whole different game where performance doesnt actually matter for much - PR does.

It occurs to me we got Aurier from them in the summer, perhaps there are good relations at board level?

Has he been playing well? Why do PSG want him out?

Not really. Neymar and Mbappe arrived a few months after him and pushed him down the pecking order (Cavani, Di Maria and Pastore are there too). He's actually played more in CM (in a 4-3-3 - taking Motta's place when he was injured, alongside Rabiot and Verratti) this season than he has done in AM.
