Defoe will go as he's someone other English clubs will want and we'd like to get some players out.

Agreed. Even though he probably prefers staying with us for the rest of his career (knowing that no bigger club will come in for him) he's shown before that he's willing to take a step down to get regular football and I don't think he's ready to be sitting on the bench all the time at this point in his career.

If we sign a top class striker and agree a fee with a PL club for Defoe I expect him to leave.

Yes, it really comes down to who we get good bids for I think. Assuming we sign a new first choice striker I think the choice between keeping Ade or Defoe will come down to who we get the better bid for. Defoe is likely to be sought after by quite a few PL clubs that will have some money to spend.
 
had QPR stayed up im pretty sure JD would have ended up there.....also Parker

Don't think he would be sure starter for England even if he leaves and plays regular football. Also, even if we get Villa he will have his oppotunites. If we sign another striker then maybe he will start looking but seeing our failures at signing strikers I will believe it when I actually see it.

It's not about being a sure starter for England, it's about being in the squad.
 
I've already said its happening by Friday, at the latest. That was my prediction and I'm feeling optimistic right now.
 
This (and Paulinho) is one that I will not believe until it's on the OS. I know it may sound paranoid but you just never know in football, especially in terms of transfers.

I've been hurt too many times, how much would you bet on the announcement being tomorrow then eh Mumorn.?

It's only what I've heard by different people (who don't know eachother).. all abit weird they all managed to land on Thursday unless of course they all heard it from the same source :lol: I personally don't think we'll sign him but if they say tomorrow then I'm willing to wait
