Never watched Udogie at Udinese, but from what I've heard and read he fairly often used to get into more central areas particularly in the final third and the box. Didn't just play as a touchline hugging wing back.Hmm but Porro was a Spanish style winger, he was never a pure up and down the wing lump it in merchant. I get your thinking, I'm just saying that as he was trained in the Spanish methodology it's not totally shocking that he's capable of playing infield.
It you watched Udogie at Udinese how he's playing isn't really surprising at all. While not inverted on paper he played a lot of possesion LWB with the ball at his feet and was a proper footballer.
I think the positions of the players is less important than the attributes they posses. Some players from the same positions will be a lot more suited to inverting than others just based on their specific skill sets.
Fully agreed on attributes and skill set. Still not that many full backs that regularly invert, we can't just look for players that already do that. But rather look for players who seem capable of doing that based on what they can do particularly on the ball.
