Hmm but Porro was a Spanish style winger, he was never a pure up and down the wing lump it in merchant. I get your thinking, I'm just saying that as he was trained in the Spanish methodology it's not totally shocking that he's capable of playing infield.

It you watched Udogie at Udinese how he's playing isn't really surprising at all. While not inverted on paper he played a lot of possesion LWB with the ball at his feet and was a proper footballer.

I think the positions of the players is less important than the attributes they posses. Some players from the same positions will be a lot more suited to inverting than others just based on their specific skill sets.
Never watched Udogie at Udinese, but from what I've heard and read he fairly often used to get into more central areas particularly in the final third and the box. Didn't just play as a touchline hugging wing back.

Fully agreed on attributes and skill set. Still not that many full backs that regularly invert, we can't just look for players that already do that. But rather look for players who seem capable of doing that based on what they can do particularly on the ball.

The Algerian LB wanting away from Wolves would fit the bill

Fully agree
It’s all about the attributes

I know you shouldn't judge players on international football, but he has consistently looked somewhere between average and absolute poo poo at the Euros.

I think he would be dogged by the stigma of where he came from and whatever his form would never be accepted. Phillips, Gray and Bergvall are much more indicative signings of Spurs of late, young and full of potential, not already discovered and aspiring to be better.

I doubt he will stay at Chelsea, but he's probably more interesting to someone like Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

Hojberg is not a good anything.
Nonsense. Hojberg is a good player, unfortunately there always has to be a spacegoat or two on this board and usually a CM.

He is far from perfect but as he has shown in the Euros in the right system is a good player, obviously not ideal for Ange ball but even then he was useful for certain games and certainly as a 'closer' from the bench. Jose and Conte both used him constantly, and credit to him for always being fit and available which in itself is a skill. All the best to him wherever he goes, always remained professional even when not getting the game time he wanted...

I'd put a bet on this guy resurfacing as a "rumour" every year for the next 5-7, every time the news is slow .. the next Zaha
Galatasaray forward Wilfried Zaha is keen to return to the Premier League, with West Ham, Wolves and former club Crystal Palace interested in the 31-year-old Ivory Coast international. (Star)
