So lets talk about that ..
- no, when fudgeing product prices have gone up 700% in last decade or so, people probably have a right to ask for some entertainment along with that.
The increase in price is the case for every fan of every club in the league, yet even when a club is top of the league with a manager who has won them the league one out of the two full seasons he's been there, they would still have him replaced. Also, the City thing isn't anything to do with entertainment, it's just this strange perception that if someone 'better' is available they should replace him. United are probably the only club in that list who want rid because 'they are not entertained' enough.
That being said, of course everyone is within their rights to ask for some entertainment. They are also within their rights to not buy a ticket if they don't feel they are being entertained enough.
- Re United, if LVG had come to Spurs (not a side that won the title 2 seasons ago), spent that kind of money and was playing the brick they play, I'd be upset.
United put in plenty of dull/boring performances under Fergie in order to grind out results and no one was complaining then. I can understand their frustrations (I had the same frustrations under AVB) I just think it's a little early for fans to actually want rid of him, even more so from a fanbase that supposedly 'stands by their managers'
- I'd argue all day long that people perception of Wenger is skewed by his first 7 years, his last 7 or so have not been that good. This season is the perfect example of his judgement being gone, had the Scum invested in a quality striker (and they don't have cash flow problems, this is supposedly why they built new stadium) and maybe one more midfielder with some defensive bite, the title would probably be theirs, so in my view, more than 50% should want Wenger out (unless they are happy playing for the 4th place trophy)
You can't win as a football manager. Wenger obviously has in his mind a specific type of striker that he feels he needs. Without him, he's comfortably finishing top 4, maybe higher on a good season. So why risk spending big money and being hammered for not winning the league because you've supposedly got your quality striker, if the striker or type of striker you want isn't available and you are in no danger of meeting the minmum expectation (top 4) without him?
Although I do take your point, and out of all the above, Wenger is probably the most reasonable of the fans to want rid of.
I really don't understand the view, Spurs of all clubs has never been "result only" so we more than most should understand trying to play the game the right way.
I agree, and I want us to play the game the right way. I enjoy watching teams play good football, I just think it's a bit rich of fans from teams who are either top of the league and playing good football (City), challenging for the league for the first time in a while whilst playing good football (Arsenal) or challenging for the league but not playing good football (United) even though they admit that losing Fergie was massive for them.
