Circus ManUnitus - Nobody's At The Wheel

imagine if we were one of the richest clubs in world football. aahh, good dreams.

Instead we're just an investment toy, with no sign of investment. That money has destroyed the game has made me bitter towards the likes of Man U. It's no longer really possible that there will be a big shake up in the top teams in the league. I know Liverpool can be cited as an example of one team which has fallen from grace but, I think their time will come again & quicker than it would have without investment.

I'm quickly getting bored of football. It's not like how it used to be & it's frustrating when, even if we accept that money is King, that we won't invest on decent players & instead waste money on crap. If we added the value of those pointless signings, signings like Stambouli, Davies, Chiriches, then we could have actually bought someone decent. But nope.

Oh well, my support of our club keeps me going but my passion for the game hangs by a thread now. It's no longer the game that I loved when I was first getting in to it.

The problem is we can't afford the wages that Utd have no doubt thrown at these four signings.

They've bought two players close to a combined £60m (both more expensive than our record signing). A £13m right-back. And a German legend. I would guess ALL of them are on much higher wages than our highest paid player.

In the past 24 months this must push Utds spending to what? £250m? Including most of their team on wages of £5m a year minimum. All funded by debt.

I hate these f**kers, as no doubt they'll be peddling that their success is due to some skill on their part (as opposed to just spending hundreds of million every window)

Wage caps, maximum squad size, stuff like that would make football much more competitive again. It's not rocket science, problem is there are too many people making too much money on today's status quo - and they are very unlikely to do anything that might disrupt that cash flow.

The problem is that United aren't funding this through debt. They can afford this type of spending, it's just that they haven't been spending this money under the Glazers because they are paying off the buyout debt. The Glazers seemingly starved Fergie too much and now they are playing catch-up.

Perhaps a reason to laugh at United. What I find a bit sad is how Fergie tarnished his record by brown-nosing the Glazers.

I never had my hopes up for getting him. At least he didn't go to Arsenal.

Says alot about Arsenal's cowardice imo that they didn't seem to lodge a formal bid.
They like to keep that 'underdog striving hard against the big boys' image rather than actually act and compete like lone of them.

Ah well, at least they still aren't too far ahead in the distance....yet...

I did. I was desperately hoping we'd somehow manage to talk him into to coming to Spurs. He would have made a formidable partner for Bentaleb and allowed the young man to get forward more than he has been.
Anyway that's done and dusted. I hope Mitchell earns his corn now with a even better player.

They can buy all these players but the defence still remains the number one priority something that Van Gaal still doesn't want to address.

I heard that defence is next for them....going to spend big now

Thought they already spent big quite a few times. I remember LVG saying he chose United for the challenge - well, with the kind of money they're spending now, he could have turned Stoke into title contenders.

Not very impressed.

The money AND the names they are signing are massive.....it's a risky rush back to the top for them.

I mean how can you w*nk nearly £60m on Angel de Maria then take a hit of £M's less than a year later, on a player that on how he looked for madrid was the perfect type and style for the prem.

He will be under pressure to win big next season, not sure it will happen though with all those new players to bed in.
