arent we all overrating depay?

i think he'll best the next ryan babel/nani. holland are suffering a bit like italy in that there seems to be a dearth of young players. and depay is just the best of a relatively poor bunch imo. had holland had some of the depth that they had in previous worldcup squads, i dont think depay wouldve got many minutes. hes playing well, but in a league that has been regressing every generation. i really wouldnt be surprised if hes basically only as good as someone like berahino. i think berahino could post the kind of stats depay has in the eredivisie. as a whole, the eredivisie is probably (far) worse than the championship imo. just look at how the chelsea loanees can really improve an average team like vitesse in that league. those chelsea loanees have little chance of being prem regulars, let alone play for chelsea.

Schewinsteiger I a great player and if he can play at his best at Utd he will be one (if not the best) signing of the summer.

Schweinsteiger has declined in recent years. But he's never had to rely on pace so he's almost a great replacement for Carrick.

I don't think there has ever been a time to laugh at them, their history is such that it would take decades of failure to fall from their pantheon, at worst, they are the second biggest team in football
