What's that comment got to do with him taking free-kicks and corners?
If he isn't around, he wouldn't be able to take them like a drunken teenager.

Actually, there was the second attempt during a free-kick to roll it to Kane (or maybe it was someone else) which the opposition promptly snuffed out. Fool me twice...
Before Eriksen even took the free kick, I knew he was going to nudge it sideways, so the defending players in or near the wall would have anticipated it too. I like mixing it up every now and then but we need to avoid being too predictable.
Is it actually the case that Vertonghen comes up for Corners and free kicks?.... I have noticed that Toby goes up and Jan stays back for our set pieces on many occasions (although I don't confess to watching this avidly enough to comment on whether it happens so for 'all' set pieces)?Think you may be on to something there @Bullet. I read somewhere that it is now over 500 days - think about that - 500 effing days dice Eriksen scored from a free kick. Please, please please can someone else have a go.
Same thing with corners. Apart from one variation against Stoke, his corners have just become irritatingly ineffective. All our players just bob up and down on the six yard box. The likelihiood of scoring from there is ridiculously small. Why don't our players start their run from the edge of the penalty area to give themselves a run at the ball? Verts, who isn't exactly bad in the air, hasn't scored for us for 2.5 years yet comes up for virtually every corner and free kick. Must be about 10 of those per game. You would think our analysts would work this out, no ?
Winks'' free kick against Everton was sublime. Someone else deserves a go here too.
While Eriksen's all round play has been excellent after a slow start, his dead ball striking and shooting remain extremely poor unfortunately.
Whether it's Toby, Jan or Eric or any permutation of the three it doesn't really matter, we just need to change our corner routine. Is it actually the case that Vertonghen comes up for Corners and free kicks?.... Except that's exactly what we have been doing in recent games. In fact it feels like we've tried more variations in the last few weeks than in the whole of the previous year. And we've already had one direct success as a result, that being Eriksen's outswinger to Kane on the edge of the D that he volleyed home for the second of his hat-trick against Stoke on February 26.
More trophy talk. I'm hearing this so often now from every player. Good.

When Mason was sold, it left a big creative hole in the side, but luckily Eriksen has stepped up to the challenge. What a lovely player Eriksen is.... Watching him is a pleasure. He is poetry in motion.
To think that a certain someone who posts on here has been desperate for us to sell him.
The pass to Son early in the game, then the dink over the top that Son called for and reacted slowly to, and then (I believe) their was a pass to Dele as well in the box. 3 insanely good passes.
Interesting in the two games Harry has been out, seem Eriksen has stepped up a little, scored the first goal in both instances.
@SteveAWOL stats are an interesting read ..
It occurred to me yesterday that he doesn't seem as dependent on harry and and Dele having good games as much he used too.
He seems much more comfortable in his role and ability.
