I didn't mean you were ignoring it, I meant that if that is the law, the police/justice system/government should not selectively ignore it in this case.

I completely agree with your other point, but I think we both know there's less than zero chance of that.

Self reported evidence is not usually considered to be evidence at all.

This is particularly on-topic as we know minority groups tend to consider themselves to be unfairly targeted by the police. We also know from US data that this means people are less likely to want to interact with police and/or authorities even when it benefits them.

So it's hardly surprising that the self-reported rate of committing crimes (whether or not something as harmless as drug use should be illegal is another matter) is low for those groups.
