Antonin Kinsky

Excellent tonight. Very impressed.
There was the slight fumble from a long shot that was wobbling through the air and I had a little Massimo Taibi wobbler for a second... and the pass which clipped Gray's heel... but he got away with both and was superb otherwise.

If we can find cheap young players like him that are good enough to oust the first teamers, that is how we can really progress fast.

Lol. For a young and NEW guy, he has natural leadership qualities actually organising the defence with the defence actually listening and obeying him. Forster and Austin are too quiet and Vicario is too frantic that no one listens. I think the defence will be stronger with an active and engagin keeper like Kinsky.
I know it's only game, but the defence did seem calmer and more controlled with him behind them.
Might be completely unrelated - but it must feel better than having Vic scream at everything.
It seems like Kinsky, Gray and Spence are all leaders

Levy is that you?

Wasn't fantastic at anything but was good at everything.
His play with the ball at his feet made such a difference, but the most impressive thing for me was his calmness and awareness.
His concentration was so good, it would have been easy to get over confident and let his attention drift but he was totally on it.
I loved the way he dealt with the cheeky disguised shot from Salah, so many keepers would have been caught out by that and scrambling.

Hopefully the handling thing was a one off or first game nervousness or something like that.

With the ball at his feet he will make some costly mistake(s) at some point. Like Allison did for Liverpool (though didn't end up costing them). That's fine. Hopefully he has the mentality to deal with that.

Absolutely on this kind of signing. One game, but if he can be added to the list of players like Udogie, Sarr and Bergvall those are the signings that make the bigger money moves possible. Allows us to fix multiple problems instead of just one or trodding along a path of mediocre players doing a job.

100%. It's a known fact that a defence is more solid when they trust their goalkeeper. Not saying ours doesn't with Vicario but it certainly is a factor where split seconds count and decision making can be costly.

Id say you're right though that they will be stronger. Vicario does moan a bit so I can imagine he will be a grumpy man if he's not number 1. Like people have said worry about that later, it's a good problem to have.

Such a great example of 'the right player makes the system work'. If we can find a few more of those across some key positions, we'll be flying.
Fully agreed. And how having players who compensate for the weaknesses of others is really important.

Dragusin had a really strong game defensively, but his weaknesses also showed on the ball and that impacted us. Kinsky compensated for that while Forster only made those problems bigger.

Obviously want that players increase the strengths of each other too, positive synergy. But not always possible. Avoiding negative synergy is imo crucial.

Particularly with our injuries we still have a couple of those around.
