I honestly think that some have made up their minds and now just want to be proven right come what may. Seems to me that there are actually a few on here who get annoyed when we win a match and go into games wanting us to lose. Very strange!
When in the 2 solid years of brick has anyone not made up their mind that Blokey From Kes doesnt have the ability at this level? Would it take 2 years of watching Gedson come to a conclusion about him?

And the 2nd most was Ramos by that measurement.

This is exactly the ETH scenario at United, a manager stumbling down the league for 18 months wins a cup, you keep, spend money to buy players specific to that manager and what do you get? your worse season in PL era, a handicapped new manger and a club in a death spiral.

No one wants us to lose, but yes, some have probably made up their minds based on what they have seen on the 2nd half of last season until now, i.e. a style of football that can't seem to find consistency and control to produce even the expected level results for this squad.

If the choice was on me right now, I know what logic says, if Ange wins EL and puts together a good run of wins (and better games) in league till the end of season, he could change my mind.

The Crapabao Cup is not comparable to the Europa League.

It is up to the Club what happens and quite frankly it seems to me they have built up quite a lot of faith and trust in him.

Also I’ve just read the Patrick O’Brian series with Captain Aubrey who made the point that there is little like a howling storm at sea to bring the crew together.

I think we will be class next season under Ange and I would be surprised if we don’t get to find out.
Thats the funny thing, some on here are busy painting their scenarios about when Ange should get the sack - yet there has been next to no noise from sources at the club around Ange being removed, even during the darkest days they were still supporting him. Another indicator is that at games the Spurs fans as a whole have still got behind Ange, the majority of sackings occur once the crowd turn on him and even during the worst of it that hasn't really happened.

I have the feeling/impression the club are placing a lot more importance on the mitigating injury circumstances this season than some on here want to do (rightly or wrongly). I think there are going to be a good few on here disappointed if expecting Ange to be sacked at the end of the season regardless of whether he wins the EL or not....

Yep, I'm very worried about being disappointed and next season being a write off too.

I don't understand it all, so many previous managers were removed with far better numbers behind them.

As Spurs fans we need to understand that those who have taken almost 2 years of data and decided Ange isn't the right pedigree for the role have every right to that opinion. They only hold that opinion because they have the club's best interest at heart. Same as the fans that still believe he's the right man, or those that want to see the season out and then make their minds up. They all have the club's best interest at heart.

Personally, I'm just putting it on the back burner for now. I'm probably more interested in the Spurs board behaviour than the decision itself. I'm interested to see if Levy truly will stay "upstairs" and allow the man that he hired to run football operations make the decision. If he doesn't, then that guy will lose all his faith in his boss and won't stick around. The piece that I keep coming back to is when Munn said his MO is to create conditions for his people to succeed (or fail). He sees it as his job to clear the path and remove the hurdles. The biggest thing I read into this situation is that Munn doesn't feel that's been the case yet. The bigger question is whether he will at the end of the season.

Maybe Levy's just fallen into a 'avoiding relegation is enough' mindset

It depends on the expectations (that none of us have line of sight to), the amount of context given to the injuries and alternatives, e.g.

- I can't believe the club bought Gray, Bergvall, Wilson, Tel, Kinsky and leveraged Moore & Scarlett expected us to push on this season. There had to be some acknowledgement that results might drop but if it lead to a long term improvement and incorporation of players that could be our backbone for next 5-8 years, it might be acceptable
- Do we believe the injuries are the difference between 12th and 8th or between 12th and 6th?
- Maybe they have made up their mind and the replacement is available in summer (or for certain people's wishes, next summer)

The fans are more interested in turning on the owners, that has helped Ange

The piece I give him (Ange) credit for is, the players are still turning up, lack of effort is not the issue

See my points in above reply. Truth is, none of us know, and it is highly dependent on what happens between now and end of season.

Most clubs in Europe were after Bergvall and Gray, what with Solanke as well I’m sure the expectation was to improve on last season.

Don't think these decisions are made just based on the numbers (points, league position etc). Don't think they should be either.

Neither do I.

But if the numbers were better at least that would be something to point to.

For me, there is nothing about his first two years I like enough to even consider giving him a third.

We wondered how Ange would fare tactically vs Pep.
So far, Pep has absolutely schooled Ange.
City waltzing through our shattered defence at will; Porro and Udogie pushing way up high, then having to scamper backwards.
Sprint after sprint after sprint after sprint after sprint after sprint until Porro or Udogie's hamstrings explode, not good to watch.

We aren't getting anywhere at this rate, should have been 0-3 after 30 minutes, then City had another 5 good situations. Very fortunate they have been so profligate.
