All or Nothing - spoilers

But Jose wants cnuts. So rose’s behavior is spot on based on that requirement. And rose was also - whether it was effective or not -trying to look after himself. The club would dump him in a heartbeat if it was good for the club. They’ve acted like utter cnuts to countless players over several regimes.
Levy even tried to put a guilt trip on eriksen about needing 20 million for him. To which eriksen said that wasn’t his problem.

I’m baffled by all the delicate flowers on here put out by rose actually having a spine. Saying to Jose that he’s real to ‘Daniel’ is fine. Daniel is THE boss.

He said he wants clams but not stupid clams. What Rose did was the equivalent of Sons kick out against Chelsea, Jose wants the equivalent of the Lamela stamp on Fabregas. Rose wasn’t clever enough.

I can certainly understand why he was disappointed by the decision but I think that it was made on merit.

It is probably just a case of him speaking his mind but I also think that it is pretty clear that he is a little deluded about where he is in his career right now. He'd have left the club a couple of years ago if he had accepted that the top clubs don't want him.
Agreed that he overestimates his ability. I think we want that from players, confidence, belief, some overconfidence.

That will express itself in different ways, including conversations such as this one, but also on the pitch.

I'm pretty relaxed about the conversation, my only concern with Rose is his overrating his ability is making it difficult for us to move him on.

For sure. Now it's a bit of a problem, it's one of those we just have to live with. If rather have players with too much belief than too little.

Some people don’t like rose. That’s fine. He did what he had to do for his career and ended up getting what he wanted. I’m Tottenham til I die, but rose is a club employee, with 12 years service. He knows that the club don’t really give a toss about him other than as an asset. And he was right about lots of other players being sh1t at that time.

He didn't get what he wanted. Rose would prefer to play for us than a mid table side. He would have preferred to go to Milan than play for Saudi Sportswashing Machine or Bournemouth. In the end, he didn't even get a transfer, just a loan to a club that, according to Levy, won't buy him anyway. He'll be back here shortly.

Had he approached things properly, there is a chance he could have redeemed himself in Jose's eyes. If he was a shadow of the player he thinks he is, and I still think he should have a couple of years in him, then he could have gotten back in the team. Instead, he burned his bridges with Mourinho and ended up with Steve Bruce.

In fact, at the end, I think Jose was taking the tinkle with the "you go and open your heart" (to Levy) bit. Jose knows the chairman is never backing Rose over Mourinho.

Rose may have gotten 11 first team games but he ended up damaging himself in Spurs' eyes and in the eyes of a lot of other clubs now it's been shown in a documentary. That's why what he did was stupid.

Well lets hope some club give him a way out, i do not think they will be much of a line of clubs to do so though.

In the context of the show I absolutely agree, no issues with him whatsoever, indeed, good luck to him.

Unfortunate in many ways.
He is easy prey for TV soap like this.
And if he wasn't open then he'd be slated.
I had big problems with what he did two season ago under Pochettino, but this? Not so much.

Having now watched episode 5, I don't see anything wrong with what Rose said at all. Maybe not so clever, but I don't get all the fuss. Those player-manager conversations must happen all the time up and down the country.
We have already heard Dier tell of how he had a conversation with Poch about not being picked and saying if he wasn't playing he'd have to look to move somewhere where he would play but no one is saying Dier was being disrespectful.
If anything, it's telling that the club have clearly made a decision to highlight Rose's conversation with Mourinho but not others.

I think this episode is the most I have felt manipulated as a viewer in the 5 episodes I have watched, with Rose, Eriksen, staged Board meetings and transfer talk all clearly agenda-driven. That's not really a criticism, as I know the series is a PR exercise. It just felt a bit too obvious.

A number of people were defending Mourinho and his attitude to injuries, player welfare and pretty much denying the whole Eva Carneiro situation happened in the Mourinho thread last season.
His prehistoric 'proper football man' attitude to playing through injuries and his attempt to bully the medical staff is there for all to see. Also revealed is that Harry Kane was playing through an existing hamstring injury when he picked the worse injury that put him out. The whole Son bit is disturbing.
Lucky for the players that the senior medical staff have been at the club long enough to hold some sway.

Branislav Ivanovic played with a foot injury so bad that, at the end of matches, blood was literally, visibly seeping through his boots. He also won nearly everything with Chelsea, going down in their history as one of their most committed, dependable players.

Players' fear of injuries doesn't concern me. Winning concerns me. Mourinho knows how to win. He wants people as committed to winning as he is. In Kane and Son, you saw players who wanted to play on through injuries, who wanted to win.

In Tanguy Ndombele, you see the opposite. Who would you rather have at the club?

I wonder if all/most of the players refer to Levy as 'Daniel' rather than the chairman or Mr Levy.
Noticed that's what Danny Rose said at the end of the Mourinho meeting

I'd rather have a fit Harry Kane than a guy that insists on playing every game and misses 20 games every season because he is a real man.

Fair enough. I wouldn't, because, imo, he wouldn't be Harry Kane at that point - he would be a more mediocre player, less driven, less determined to score and to win, more cautious, more run-of-the-mill.

Everything Mourinho has said and done here with regard to getting the team to want to *win*, I essentially agree with. We need to want to win by any and every means possible, to leave blood on the field and understand how hard it is to actually win something. A team of good guys, honest guys, conscientious guys, as he says - don't win. We didn't, in all the time Poch was here. We need to now - have to.

Sometimes, that involves playing through injuries. I'd rather have a team driven to play through them than one full of Ndombeles, even if there's marginally fewer injured players in the squad as a result (which is by no means certain).

Eh. I don't blame him for asking for games. I do, however, think it's astonishingly oblivious on his part to claim he's the best left-back at the club - he wasn't even the best left-back at Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

I can't judge him on whatever may have gone on in training, because I don't get to watch it. I do watch the games, however. And in the games I saw, Japhet Tanganga, a raw kid Rose derided as just another 'right-footed center back' playing in his position...did far, far better than Rose has done for a year and a half.

Thst's why I think Rose is astonishingly oblivious, or just astronomically self-centered. Tanganga is better than him while playing out of position on the opposite side to his favored foot, and Danny still thinks he deserves games? Utterly stupid.
