Aaron Lennon

i remember he scored from just outside the box in that 1-5 win over Hull in 09/10 aswell. But yeah, it would be nice if he could do it more than once every 5 years or so

oh scrap that it wasnt against Hull, it was against someone in a decent away win, cant remember who now.Im sure someone on here will know.

Makes me sad that Ledley isn't right up towards the top of that list.

The King didn't even make it to the 300 game mark :(

Unbelievable really how for a large percentage of 30-somethings on this forum we have probably only ever seen Anderton, Defoe and Lennon play live from that list... (And it looks like this list has been extended just so these recent players made it on their at the bottom)

It's actually pretty sad.

Anyone think there could be someone in the current squad capable of making this list in the next decade?

I'm one of those 30something Spurs too... Would like to see Eriksen and Lamela reach the 350 game mark for us but the sad fact is that if they do fulfil their immense potential then they'll inevitably end up moving to Madrid or ManU... guess Walker is the best bet in the current squad, if he can overcome his injury problems...

Nope. Players are very unlikely to be good enough to play for years yet not good enough to get a move for more money.

Things change really fast nowadays, almost the whole team changes every couple of years

Also tonight is a good example of the merry-go-round: Hamburg Manager Mirko Slomka has been sacked. Holtby will now play under his seventh manager in 18 months

No Lennon
Look at the size of Eric Dier, very nice to see. Chadli is HUGE, Dier is HUGER, Fazio is HUGEST.

Looks like a pretty good squad compared to years gone by, fewer 'liabilities' dotted around

Yeah. He's probably just got a cold or a bug something and - rightly - he's not mixing with the rest of the squad. Not only did he play last week, but on the same day they were taking the official photo, there was a story about him on the OS celebrating his 350th appearance. No way it's an Assou-Ekotto situation. I'm betting when that photograph is officially published, Lennon will be magically transported into it via the power of photoshop.

See the gap between Bentaleb and Dembele? Lennon is down there.

Tottenham transfer news: Spurs ready to sell Aaron Lennon but he's in no mood to quit

Tottenham are ready to sell Aaron Lennon in January but the former England player is no hurry to leave White Hart Lane.

Lennon has slipped down the pecking order to such an extent under head coach Mauricio Pochettino that he was not even on the bench for last Sunday’s 1-0 win over Southampton and was only a second-half substitute against Besiktas in the Europa League.

Both Queens Park Rangers and Stoke tried to sign Lennon in the final days of the summer transfer window but neither could agree a deal with the player and Spurs. And there might be similar problems when the window re-opens.

Lennon is valued at between £8million and £10m but even if Spurs could persuade a club to meet that asking price, it is thought Lennon is not in a rush to depart. His wages, which are about £55,000 a week, could also prove a stumbling block.

Despite Pochettino’s verdict that Lennon is likely to have few chances this season — he is behind Nacer Chadli, Erik Lamela and Andros Townsend in the pecking order — the 27-year-old is confident he can force his way back into the team.

£10m would be excellent business. Fair play if he wants to stay, but he's at the point where he's not first choice anymore.

aye its upto him to prove he should be 1st choice. I have always liked Lennon, was one of our most exciting players - but over the last 2/3 seasons something has happened to him, he doesn't take on full backs like he used to and just isn't as explosive. Given his time served, I am happy for him to try to get back to somewhere near his best - but not as 1st choice.

Lennon could well have a touch of the Rooney factor....ie quick,powerful,explosive......the years pass and then not very quick,powerful,explosive......equals not very useful any more.

For wide right - he is still the first choice IMHO.

MoPo has different views, and I see that as one of the reasons we are not threatening as we should.

Were we to sell him, it would come back to haunt us as he'd skin Davies, and waltz around Rose

Ahead of Lamela?
