Aaron Lennon

interesting

further on Lennon I'd say criticism of his output in the days of bale/Modric/VDV was fair enough, they all did it every game, every week

different kettle of fish now though, the bar has fallen through the floor

Interesting.

Q1: What level of football did you play?

Q2: Now that Hudd have gone does he have any other "drinking partners"?

Q3: I've always worried that many young English players are in or are doomed to fall into the drinking lifestyle; I guess that reputation might be why many of the top clubs don't invest too heavily in too many English players. Anyway, from what you know do many/any of the English home-grown in our squad have similar drinking issues?

Caulker was/is a bit of a ****head apparently, that's why AVB sold him.

1. Some youth football and some high end semi-pro for a bit. Nothing spectacular but met a few people connected with the club.

2. No idea.

3. Not sure on current players as we seem to have sold our English core. Hopefully none!

Caulker was bad. The story of him and Lennon getting drunk on Lewis' yacht and offending his wife was confirmed to me by somebody on that boat. Another example would be caulker having to get rescued by his agent up in Swansea, where he had to drive up and pay his debts to a casino after he had no money left.

Spurs players get paid every Thursday and when he came back from the swans he was given a reported 40k a week contract. By Monday he would sometimes be at a friends house asking for 100 quid to get to training after being on a binge on the Saturday night and Sunday. Frankly it's disgusting how someone can be so wasteful and he must be really bad for other people to hear about his behaviour. Look at how is career is panning out at this stage.

Spot on re Lennons private life btw. I know a few similar stories.

Still a decent back up to have but nothing more.

Wow...just wow.

Thanks for sharing that; really interesting (but potentially depressing).

Do you (or anyone else btw) know if Lennon's drink problem is only very recent? Up until March 2013 (think back to the Arsenal and Inter matches at home) he was always one of the main guys who if missing through injury etc would leave a gaping hole in the team and in the way we played. I wonder if the injury problem he suffered on and off from March 2013 actually made him more withdrawn etc and prone to drinking away his depression?

Please PLEASE don't tell me that Livermore was also a binge drinker!

Surely it is well known that the English lads at Spurs (Thudd, Lennon, Livermore etc) would go out drinking and clubbing it a lot?

Caulker imo had/has little to no talent but it certainly is sad how Lennon's career is panning out considering the early promise. He should have been sold in the summer.

Harsh on caulker - 6,3, athletic, strong in the air and comforable on the ball. He definitely got a bit of hype around his ability but he did and probably still has the ability to play for England.

Lennon - such a shame

No my knowledge of Lennon's love of night life were from
2009/champions league times. Obv it has continued but my guess is he was like this from a young age

Livermore would surprise me, he strikes me as someone who is a workaholic and would have a very professional attitude...

The fact that he is coming up to 10 years as a Tottenham player, both stuns and angers me at the same time. How on earth is he still here ! Thats longer then the likes of Ginola, VDV and Waddle put together.

Says everything about us these last ten years realy. Sticking with mediocrity instead of trying to get better. Letting a player stagnate like Lennon has and still give him a huge pay packet week in week out.

Every time he had a run of good form he'd get injured, sending potential buyers elsewhere. Now it's too late. Can see him go somewhere like Stoke or Hull.
