Rafael Leao

It's context, there are also players who did poorly who came to the PL and did better here. What you have to do is actually analyse the individual player's attributes and play style to see how well they would fit. It's not a one size fits all judgement each player is a specific case.
And i have, i mentioned i have not seen a lot of him but he would be too lazy off of the ball to fit into a De Zerbi system.

He's a game changer who can be utterly unplayable, not sure we have enough of those.

On a loan, if RDZ wants him and we have done our due diligence, I think it's a good call.

That said, if we go Leao, I suspect it's 3 incoming not 2 (too much risk just depending on him), and Tel may push to go

Watched last night and still not seeing it

Seemed lazy/half effort

Could be his style.

I think it would be a mistake.
He made some lung busting runs but didn’t do anything else. He scores some screamers but I don’t think he’s should be anywhere near our team. We have had these players before that turn up when they feel like it.

You don’t buy seriously in the market like we have so far only to waste money on a player that has never quite made it work.

I dunno, I think his goal and assist record is fairly decent, even if it is Italy. He is truly two footed which is rare these days and I think if you harnessed his strengths he would be very dangerous IMO.

On paper yes, personally think he has over promised and under performed given his skill set. Why take the chance when there are other options available.

If he was 22 or 23, he'd be worth a punt. But at 27 now I think he has a Wilfred Zaha type of career/trajectory about him

You haven't watched a lot of him, yet you know he would be too lazy for De Zerbi's system? Do you see the oxymoron here? 😩
Seen enough to know what sort of player he is, reading reports of what a lot of people who have seen him regularly have to say and the majority say he doesn’t track back. You only have to watch the game yesterday to see he strolls back.

So as long as we don't put him on the same side of the pitch as Spence we should be OK, right?

I'm not saying that I want him or that I think he would be suited to Spurs under RDZ but I thought Leao looked OK last night.

I didn't think he looked lazy at all, in what way did you think he was lazy?

I saw a player who kept his position well, often showed for the ball and didn't waste it when he got it. Spain were wary of him and tried to to get a second player out to help Porro with him every time. When they did that he tend to keep the ball, making some nice triangles with his full back and midfield player. When he received it with only Porro to beat he tended to run at Porro and was able to beat him a few times.

When Spain attacked through Yamal, I saw Laeo getting back and covering inside his full back in case Yamal beat him. I also saw him tracking Porro when Porro moved forward. I fail to see how his performance was lazy or him giving half effort?
