what has happened to the transfer section?

if its true that Spurs are sending a delegation to watch Valenica-Sociedad, then id guess we are more likely to be watching Griezman of Sociedad rather than Soldado of Valenicia

Griezman to be the Bale replacement

Griezmann is suspended tonight, so if we have a scout there, its definitely Soldado he is looking at

What sort of player is Griezmann and whats his standard?

Players all seem to love being at Valencia, never seem to hear them shouting for a move but they are skint so would probably sell for the right money. Trouble would be getting him to join us but ticks the boxes and good age too.

who the hell is Clasie?

Young Dutch player in the Moutinho/Xavi/Modric mould.

We've been linked with him quite a bit:

No - we have Holtby now

Different type player. I see Holtby more challenging Dembele longer term. Neither are good enough ballplayers for the third of the CM trio that we are missing.

Sounds like a good player and cheap too. Could be an astute purchase.

Definitely.

Although because we already have young midfielders in Holtby, Siggy and Sandro, I think Moutinho's experience would add a lot to that department (esp with Parker being phased out, if he stays), as well as Moutinho being a 'ready made', rather than grow your own, worldy.

TBH i want us to sign 2 proven quality players in the summer. The next best thing can wait a year or two (unless we're able to sign 2 quality players as well as hot prospects).

I hope so. I think Soldado is a great player. Exactly what we need.

Soldado is a poacher that doesn't have much else to his game. He's very similar to Defoe (better link up play but that's not saying much) so if we're looking to sign him then it will be Defoe that would be leaving...but why we target a player like Soldado i don't know.

I guess if we are switching to 4-3-3 and let Parker and Hudd go, we might just be able to squeeze in both Moutinho and Clasie.

If we're going to buy an 'at their peak' forward, he and Osvaldo are probably the main realistic (under £20m) options.

Unlike Defoe, he has intelligence and movement. If we play with possession, having a last shoulder, rather than a back-to-goal, #9 actually makes sense. Remember AVB's Porto had Falcao, who whilst much more complete than Soldado, is similarly not a target man per se.
