what has happened to the transfer section?

The rumours going round areRooney to PSG, Falcao to United, Lewandowski to Bayern, Dzecko to Dortmund.

No doubt we'll be left seeing who's available last day of the transfer window.

Those teams have greater spending power than us and greater appeal (to non-Spurs fans) than us. The only one of those we might have a chance with is Lewandowski however that would be dependent on none of those teams mentioned above coming in for him or other similar teams.

We play in the next bracket down transfer-wise and will continue to do so until we're regulars in the CL and have a new stadium

Yes, we have to depend on either waiting until the bigger clubs have done their business or hope that AVB and his scouts have identified a player that is good enough that the bigger clubs haven't been able to identify in that bracket yet.

That could easily be one of the signings of the summer.

Very highly-rated and has been linked with clubs much better than Fulham

Is there a reason he's only started 10 league games this season for Bilbao?

I haven't seen him much, but he's 28 and is now going to Fulham, signing before the window actually opens. Doesn't sound like he's the man.

Who the fudge do we get in then?

Gomez from Bayern - they will have too many damn strikers and all of them better than what we have

Dortmund don't have significantly greater spending power than Spurs. They only overtook us in the money league this year.

They are growing rapidly, though, and have the attraction of a great team, great stadium and great crowd.

On the flip side, the Premier League is still a more attractive proposition for most players than the Bundesliga. And London is a more attractive destination to live and work. We don't have a bad team ourselves and we should have a stadium of our own to be proud of in the not too distant future.

The new TV deal, new stadium and potentially qualifying for the CL more regularly in the future could also see us overtaking Dortmund in the money league once more.

To be fair, they're richer than us, in the CL semis and always at the very top of their league. We're unlikely to be competing with them for players.

We need to be targeting players the next level down who have the potential to improve or who just arent that well known, like we did with Berbatov, Modric etc

Agree with you about the future, though at the moment Dortmund would be more attractive than us at the moment. I can see us signing Remy, Benteke and a Modric-style CM in the summer

Dortmond also have trouble keeping their best players for any length of time.

Dortmond also have trouble keeping their best players for any length of time.

They have had trouble holding on to top players in the past - largely because they were a financial basket case for many years.

But they've turned a corner in that respect and are now a picture of financial health. With their huge and loyal fan base, their fantastic stadium, their strong brand, and the ever burgeoning reputation and attractiveness of the Bundesliga, Dortmund are well placed to become a genuine financial powerhouse of the European game.

So, all else being equal, I suspect that their days of being unable to hold on to their top players will soon be behind them.
