The Official 2016/17 Premier League Thread

Fonte getting absolutely destroyed in the air by Ibra. He's a great header, but should never be allowed to score from there.

Can't we just skip to the part where Mourinho has managed to tinkle off and alienate most of his players and they're struggling to get EL qualification?

Watching Utd in this game so far has been like watching Leicester last season. Do nothing, cross the ball in, get first goal. Opposition get goal disallowed, then they give away a stupid penalty.

Done nothing and are winning 2-0.

Without a shred of exaggeration I think that anyone who watched Manure tonight saw the best performance in the history of sport. Mou is the smartest, most charming manager in the history of the universe and Ibra deserves his place as the most talented, strongest, inventive footballer since time began.

So normal service has been resumed, the big spenders will come out on top again. This is why so many neutrals were behind Leicester last season and why we shouldn't begrudge them their title. It was a break from the norm and it gave every fan outside the richest clubs hope that it could be their team. This season already has a predictable feel about it. I hope I am wrong.

Man U did enough to win. Southampton were neat but ineffective.
Sadly I can see Man U at least as flat track bullies but little else.
Zlatan will need his rest and will not play every week once the season gets going, Pogba will drive the 'petulant one' mad with his showboating in about a week.
